hbo moving to mpeg 4

Wonder what will happen to the c-band crowd when hbo moves to mpeg-4 on all of its feeds?

Does that leave us 4dtv folks out?

There will probably still be some SD reuplinks. Isn't HBO already on X4? The HD feeds will probably be history. If NPS gets a working IPTV solution they might be able to offer HBO HD for cband, but it wouldn't be 4DTV compatible.

I think there's a pretty good chance the HITS feed on X4 will still be there. It will probably be a down-rezzed mpeg-2 conversion, but I doubt the small cable companies that use those feeds will be able to swap over to mpeg-4 any time soon.
