I am glad you got it running - yes USALS makes it very easy! Don't need to setup on your TS satellite.

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but it appears that it was concluded satisfactorily, and my issues are somewhat similar. I apologize in advance if I am stepping on anyone's toes or otherwise irritating anyone by not starting a new thread.

That being said, I have a SG2100 motor, an AKSA 22khz switch leading from the motor to an Invacom QPH-031 LNB attached to a Winegard DS-3100 (1m dish). I use both a Fortec Lifetime STB, and a genpix 8PSK-2-USB adapter, with which I use DVB Dream or MyTheatre.

My mast is plumb. I had measured its levelness (is that a word?) with a Johnson Post Plumb purchased at Home Depot. I had measured all around the post (as well as on top of the post - yeah, I am a Type-A person. I previously had a pole that was nowhere near plumb). Then I cemented the post in with concrete.

I can get Signal and Quality just fine on circular-based satellites, but not at all on linear-based satellites. I have settings for the circular-based satellites at LNB1 - 11250, SW - 0, LNB2 - 11250. I have power set on and DiSEqC set to 1 and 22khz set to 1. For linear-based satellites, my settings are LNB1 - 10750, SW - 0, LNB2 - 10750. I have power set on, DiSEqC - 2 and 22khz set to disabled.

It is encouraging that I do not need to find my TS (which is AMC5 @ 79), since I cannot for some reason, nor can I find Nimiq2 @ 82.

When I tune in a circular-based satellite using DiSEqC and then switch to USALS, I notice that the motor moves for approximately 2-3 seconds to the west of where it is positioned for DiSEqC 1.2. I was so hopeful after cementing in my new post.

Any thoughts as to why so much difference? And what do I need to do to correct this situation.

Use only USALS or Diseqc, not both. USALS positions are stored in the reciever, whereas the Diseqc positions are stored in the motor. It is quite easy to 'bump' the dish using USALS by just changing the degrees of the satellite in the USALS menu by a decimal point either way.
