Last November I switched from cable to The Dish Network and was hoping to be able to use 6 TV's with Dish but, apparently I made an incorrect choice, and chose the Hopper system. The installer was totally uncooperative, uninformative, and useless and did a really sloppy job installing in my attic. Every room in my home was wired for cable a few years ago. I also bough the Sling adapter. Now my wife is upset because the TV she watches most often can only get OTA channels, and I don't want to unhook any of the 4 TV's that are set-up with the Hopper. When I placed my order with Dish they told me to ask the installer about "mirroring" one of the Joeys to my wife's TV, but the installer ignored my request.
I have since come to understand that the Hopper will only work with the 3 Joeys. I have argued with the Dish people (both English speaking and those that use English as a second language) and have gotten nowhere finding an inexpensive solution. The foreign person ofered to sell me the second Hopper and a Joey for an additional $=/-500.00. Ouch!! I also talked to the normal support people who told me I could have 2 more Joeys for an additional $7 per month each which I felt as a fair deal but when I came back to make the deal they said no, I also needed another Hopper for $** and more Joeys, way more than I could afford. I even threatened to cancel my agreement and go back to cable, absorbng the cancellation fees, etc. but still got nowhere.

Now, is there any inexpensive way to hook up 2 more TV's to receive the Dish signal, even if the TV's only mirror the signal from the next room (at any given time our family of will only be using 3 signals)? or is going back to Cable my only reasonable choice!

You could have order a second Hopper to start with. If you had told to Dish about 6 TVs, they would have set you up that way, unless you got a worthless CSR (which happens). I would advise you to PM a Dirt Member to see what they can do for you. Go to the bottom of the Forum page, and look for signed in members in RED.

If you want to go the mirror route, get an RF modulator hooked to the composite out on one of the Joeys, spit to the two TVs, or two modulators, one for each..

a normal Dish tech won't do any sort of mirroring. It's outside of what they are paid to do which is installing Dish equipment. Most people have their system installed and do the mirroring on their own.

If you're at least a little handy and don't have too complicated of a wiring setup, it shouldn't be all that difficult to set up an RF modulator.

plenty of topics on mirroring to look up the various ways to do it: https://www.google.com/search?q=hop...494,d.aWc&fp=1b3ca709867a17bf&biw=916&bih=980

Mirroring with a modulator will only be a Standard Definition solution no HD pictures. Unless DIRT can help you Buying a Hopper and 2 Joeys is your only solution.

Just an idea, but set one of the joeys up wireless and move it around when you need it, otherwise mirroring with an rf modulator or getting a second hopper is the answer

Another option would be an HDMI splitter and running more wires.

Sorry you waited so long before coming to us. It might limit what DIRT can do for you.

BTW I think you can still get a Hopper for $199 aftermarket.

there is another way, but it is fairly expensive.........
get a powered hdmi splitter & a wireless transmit system. I bought the HD Flow HDS200 (which I learned about from a member of this forum...........thanks). I connected it to a 722 receiver in the bedroom & a tv upstairs. I just hooked everything up last night, but it seems to work great. HD picture & the ability to control the down stairs receiver from upstairs

It's a good solution, but for the same money, I would just get another hopper and have the added benefit of additional tuners and integration.
