H20 Manufacture Date

Is there anyway to tell from the S/N or anything else, when exactly a H20 was manufactured?

Alright thanks for the reply. I have not received the actual receiver yet. I have a feeling I'm about to be part of the SOL club. I bought the receiver used, but as I understand unless they paid for the unit in full ($400?). I won't be able to use the server as it was leased? I highly doubt the receiver is older than March 2006. I did see the picture of it and it is a 100 with a really old looking gray remote (not those standard white ones). Here's for hoping.

With that old a remote, it may have been owned. When buying used, it is safest to get the RID and check with Directv to determine the status before purchasing.

The H20-100 wasn't introduced till after March. Very very strong chances of leased.

that's right. if you get something over ebay and it turns out it belonged to a previous lease they'll never let you activate it and it must be returned. i've been after an HR20 on ebay and have submitted every RID#. turns out that out of 20 only 3 were in good status and ok to add to my account.
