H20 firmware updates?

Does anyone know if D* has any firmware updates planned for the active feature for the H20 receivers anytime soon?

Firmware Update

The H20-600 is in deed of a much needed update. A DTV Tech told me that they had one for internal use only, and that he thought that it would roll out before June. About the same time as the first of two new sats for HD go up. He did not mention the H20-100, but I feel sure that it too will be getting some kind of update.

The H20's were rushed out to compete with Dish, and the bugs show. It is very possible you will see a next generation HD IRD by Summer to replace the H20 series or at least a whole new logic board with updated ROMs and processors.

Thanks for the reply Jedi.We have two of the H20-600 receivers.The only issue we have had with them is the need to keep them in an open area,due to the heat from the receivers.Other than that,they have performed very well.When we noticed the Game Lounge channels on the guide and couldn't access them,I figured it was due to not having the active feature available on the receivers.

I want the interactive channel feature working on my H20. Hopefully the next firmware update will be well tested!

There was a CE (test) release of software for the H20 a couple of weeks ago, that enabled interactive, but had some other problems so did not go to national release. I would not think it will be very long before we see an H20 national release that enables interactive...

Can't speak for everyone, but I have had a H20 since they first came out and it hasn't missed a beat. No problems with any bugs, just missing a lot of features I wish it had, like the interactive features of the HR20.

Yep, agree with Lou. Also have a bud with one and another bud has two as well. NONE give any problems.

I know that they interactive feature works on the other receiver such examples as D10, D11, and D12 receiver. The time when I asked Tech support for when those Interactive features would work for the H20 receiver had not been determined. But one way to make directv possibly enable that feature faster or quicker would be to give feedback to them that you would like to see that feature enabled. Is what I have been advised when calling tech support...

I had one H20 fail, but it was mechanical -- not a firmware issue. The HDMI jack would not hold the cable firmly in-place. Had it replaced and have not had any other issues..... aside from the missing national rollout of interactive features.
