Guide question

I had DirecTV installed Friday, and am getting use to the differences between this system and my former Dish Network one.

One thing is REALLY bothering me though about DirecTV's guide, and I was curious if I was just not looking in the right place.

With Dish, the guide told you when the show originally aired, and indicated if it was a new episode (It would say NEW at the end of the recap). With DirecTV, I don't see any of that.

Is there really no way within the Guide to tell if a show is new? I know the DVR has the first-run settings, but that doesn't help me when I'm looking to record some special that sometimes has new episodes but one I don't want to always record.

This is really frustrating me ... even though I'm sure it sounds petty to most of you.

The First Aired date is shown when you select a show from the guide.

If you hit info it usually says "first aired" and then the date aired which if new is that same day

I guess there's no listing of episode number though, eh? (A guy can dream!)

Episode # ?
No, but it gives you the episode Name ...

Btw, if you hit the "More Info" button, it will tell you when it first aired.
