She says no to getting the people out??? How in the heck can this be??? I guess the true gutless person has rose up....

5 people in MS have died so fas from bacteria from water and they aren't under water. Does this Gov. have a clue? Somebody needs to call her Dr. and have her head removed from her ASS!

She is well over her head, and has been. She hired the old FEMA director (James Witt)to "advise her" on their emergency preparedness planning. Guarantee its all about trying to cover her ass after the fact and this politically friendly director was only brought in to spin this so the blame is directed at FEMA and its restructuring instead of her incompetence.

I hope I'm wrong cause Witt was a decent and qualified guy - but if true it just means politics trumps all.

Do you think some people are staying at their homes for the following reasons?:

>To protect their valuables
>They have nowhere else to go (once they have to leave a shelter)
>They think they will get free food and help in addition to their disability checks (if they get a check)

...and another thing. Bush asked the Gov. to sign off and basically turn the National Guard over to Federal Authorities, making them regular army for a time, and she refused. Whether or not he should have still done that regardless of the Gov. bumbles wishes we can debate but let's get a clear picture out here of where some of the problems started and why communication was horrible. Can anyone defend her?
