got a call from direct

so a few weeks ago i called to see what my contract date was, and see what i could work out for an hmc
i was not out yet, wouldnt be until october sometime

i got a follow up call saying i had inquired about upgrading or moving, i had inquired about upgrading
they looked me up, contract date is oct 9th, 3 weeks from call date

they said they cold do nothing now, but to call back then and see

oh and whil ive got you on i will give you 6 months free dvr


will have to see what happens on oct 9th, already put a remider in my calander

Interesting that you should post this. I just looked at my statements. My first one was 10/15/2010 so I'm guessing my contract date must be right around that. I may give a call and see what I can do as well.

** EDIT ** ok, very nice phone call, but all I could get was an offer for the HR34 for $199 and no installation fee. My contract expiration is October 14th. I'll call back then and see if we can get a better retention deal. I saved over $400 the first year when I switched from Dish to DirecTV. I still have the pads on the roof for the dish antenna. If the deal was sweet enough I might consider switching back and saving a boatload of cash again, but I REALLY like DirecTV better so I'm hoping I don't need to play that card.

with no amc, dish isnt even an option
