What kind of deals does direct have for say one room and basic programming?

Probably the usual, free basic install, maybe a 10 dollar a month for 15 month kind of credit, talk to a CSR (may have to play CSR roulette), and ask them for their current offer, letting them nicley know you are 'pricing' other options, maybe get a movie pack for 6 mons, YMMV.

Local retailers may offer their own promotions, as opposed to going directly to D*.
