Going from rewound/paused TV to live TV

Hello all
Current E* subscriber getting really really close to switching to D*. My brother has Direct tv, and I find it annoying that if you rewind or pause TV, you have to FF in order to jump to live TV. Dish's remotes have that button; press it, and you are watching live tv.

Are all D* remotes missing that button? Or is it possible that simply my brother's doesnt have it? He has an SD receiver received directly from D* (not sure of model), and the white remote with the color buttons.

Just press and hold the 30 Sec Skip button until it jumps to live TV.

What model DVR? If a DirecTV TiVo then press the Live TV button or the left arrow. If a DirecTV DVR, press "Exit".
