I am getting the 811 installed next week (I think it will be an 811 :)). I currently have the reqular receiver DP301. The Dish network guy will take away the 301 and replace it with an 811.

My question is since I have a sony HDTV with an HDMI input, will the Dish network guy provide me with a HDMI cable or do I have to buy one myself. If he does not use the HDMI, I am guessing he will use the regular RCA.

Will there be any need to rewire the coax cable for HD (this is a new house and came prewired with coax cable which the 301 is currently using)?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Tom, welcome to sat guys!

The only HD cable that Dish provides is a component cable.

The satellite hook up that you have for the 301 will be fine.

If you want to use your tv's HDMI, you'll need to get a DVI to HDMI cable, but in actuality the Component cable will do just fine.

New install, lousy picture

What exactly is the difference between a DPP LNB & DP LNB?
