RGB are for High Def component video outputs whereas YRW are for sd composite outputs.
I have a dish 1000 and a vip722 reciever and my HD channels don't come in any better than the other channels. Any ideas on how to get them in better? Right now the dish is pointing at 129 with a signal of about 43. A tech came out Monday and just looked at my tv screen and said "nothing wrong" didn't bother to change the channels or anything.

In short lengths it won't make a difference.RGB are for High Def component video outputs whereas YRW are for sd composite outputs.
I think what he was saying though was that other than the color of the connectors, they are the same cables. As far as I know, there is no difference other than color.
There is something that needed to be changed for sure. If one is not able to tell the difference between SD and HD, something is wrong in the process. It would even be more true in your case than his (larger tv will show the sd defects more)I don't think there is anything that needs to be changed. I have the same experience. The only difference I've ever really seen, is that HD programs fill my screen, SD programs don't. And that's onlly true if they are broadcasting a true HD program.
I have a 50+" TV and beyond 10' there is no noticable difference in PQ. Since my media room is so big now, I see no difference in PQ.
