Beta Firmware is available for Improved Timers and Recording.

GEOSATpro firmware GSPMHD_0.16_12062012 for USB Update

Warning: The GSP_MHD_016 update is a main system file and will overwrite your settings and channel scans. We strongly recommend users to perform a complete factory reset after the firmware update. You may safely load any User Data Base (.udf) file created and saved from a microHD operation on firmware version 0.13 or newer. If you have an older User Data Base created with firmware older than 0.13, use the attached new Satellite/ Transponder list. If you use a switch or motor, you will need reconfigure and re-enter your location Longitude and Latitude settings.

Important Notice: Before updating the firmware, Please back-up your current firmware to an USB - Save to USB (ALLCODE) .abs
  • After the .abs firmware file update is completed, power cycle the rmicroHD by removing and reinserting the power plug. Perform a Factory Reset before reconfiguring the satellite settings and scanning for channels or loading the .udf file.

Important Clarification about loading .udf files created with previous firmware versions. We DO NOT recommend loading old User Database files (.udf) that were saved on previous firmware versions older than 0.13. While the saved .udf file may be fine and cause no operational issues, the file could contain data that will cause the microHD to enter a reboot cycle. Please follow our recommendation of rebuilding your channel list using the database file that is in this firmware.

MicroHD Beta Firmware Notes:

Date: 12/06/2012
Version: GSPMHD_0.16_12062012

  • Corrected: Unwanted Timer Deletion Solution
Future reoccurring timers are not cancelled if a single event has a signal or an USB device error. Example: If a timer is set to record Daily at 5pm and today the signal is interrupted, the timer will not be deleted and will record tomorrow.

  • Changed: Loss of signal during a recording will not stop the recording or stop the timer event
In the case that a signal is lost during a manual or timer recording event, the recording will continue for the duration of the event. If signal returns during the event, the recording is continued. If the signal does not return, the timer continues to execute, but the file will only be the length of the time that the signal was available.

If no signal is available at the start of the timer recording, the recording will not start. We have confirmed that in order to support the ability to record two programs and watch a third from the same transponder, the signal must be present during the record initiation. Unfortunately, the record initiation command cannot be repeated.

Thanks installed and running.

Now just get that 30 second skip on recordings, and a Mon-Fri recording choice up and running, and I'll be fat and happy sitting on my couch! lol

With those two added, I probably wouldn't even be able to think of anything much to complain about on this receiver anymore! hehe.

By the way, so far I think you are doing a wonderful job on the tweaks you have already added, and it's much appreciated!

Kudos to Brian, and Co for all the good job they do at satisfying their customers.

Yeah, but I know it is fixed... I will not "replace" the 1100 dvr until the USB stick is full. I will get the updating done, but I need to make a trip to "town" for more sticks. (150 miles RT, & Wednesday is payday!).

And as a side note, this new laptop will transfer the files from the USB stick to the USB 500GB HD quite rapidly, and let me save each one in its own directory. Now if I could make a weekly directory, automatically... but 4 weeks is good. Thanks again.

Have you all ever tried a multi-satellite Ku blind scan on a 90-100cm dish, or any dish that's a little bit off on alignment?
I did a scan from 30w to 125w, and it didn't scan in the sats in the middle, from around 50w to around 103w.
I remember watching it move very quickly through those sats. I'm thinking maybe my alignment was off enough to make it slow to pick up the TP signal.
I've since then changed the alignment and readjusted, but I just re-read the reason for this beta firmware, and wondered if this may be related.
Maybe the MicroHD isn't pausing long enough for a signal lock on weak signals?
I have also noticed at times a delay before the signal and quality bars will "light up", when switching from one TP to the next.
Or, maybe it's completely unrelated:eek:

If the status bar moves quickly, it is not detecting any RF carriers and not stopping to analyze for DVB services.

As there have been no issues in testing or user reports, moving firmware version 0.16 to official firmware status.
