but the issue is his motorized dish would still move ;)

I have the 200 which is kinda like the 1000 (I think)....just go into the motor setup and turn it off for that satellite.

oh i didnt know he had a motor....where did you pick that up?

previous posts ;)

also "I have a sat on a fixed dish now" which usually means it was part of a motorized system before. Just going off my hunches (and the fact I've done the same things before) :)

Yes, I used to have AMC3 on my 8" movable. I put in a dedicated dish and re directed the switches to use it. But the 8' movable moves un needed to the old position when I call up AMC3.
I just didn't see in the menu where to shut of the motor for that sat.

Mis typed model 1100c

I just noticed I typed the model wrong in the title and posts. Duh. It is an 1100c, maybe why no one knew the answer to this.

Since you are controlling a linear actuator, I assume that you are using DiSEqC1.2? If so, you will want to erase the motor memory assigned to the satellite.

  • Enter into the Installs Menu
  • Select Motor Setup
  • Enter 0000
  • Select satellite AMC3-C
  • Verify Motor Type: DiSEqC 1.2
  • Arrow down to Motor Control
  • Select: Reset Position
  • Press OK to delete the saved position for this satellite position number.
  • When Message Box prompts: "Would you like to reset satellite position in motor?" highlight OK and press OK.

Thanks Brian,

I'll give this a try when I get home this evening. I'm a little nervous, last time I clicked this command it erased every sat position in my G-box.

Also if I could ask about the 1100c blind scan. I can limit the freq range to 950-1450 to save scanning freq that are not standard on most N.A. sats when I'm using a 10750 lnb. Is there any different setting needed for the following.
1) Ku lnb set for 10600
2) C lnb set for 5150
3) circular lnb set for 11250 (scanning for 12200-12750)

1. 10600 is only for a Universal LNB
2. correct
3. correct

I thought that got corrected? I know on the 200 it did the same thing (950-2150) and a software upgrade fixed it to default to 950-1450

Ice,

Last upgrade I got gave the ability to manually key in 1450 over the top of the default 2150.

But let me try to re word my question. If I am using an lnb other than 10750, will I miss part of the desired spectrum if I limit to 1450?

You may be correct, but I was sure that it was designed to only reset the selected satellite position :(

To avoid the risk, why not use your GBox and delete the position for AMC3?

If you are using both bands of a Universal LNB and wish to search all available frequencies 10.7GHz - 12.75GHz, then expand the IF range to match the output of the LNB. Example: Universal LNB with LO 9750 / 10600, change the IF range to 950 - 2150.

I think he is saying the default of the blind scan is 950-2150. I know the 200 model had that same issue and then there was a software update that defaulted it to 950-1450

Thanks, Iceberg!

GEOSATpro DSR100c/200c and the DVR1100c all have OTA-SSU firmware updates that default the IF setting to 950-1450. So maybe his receiver has older firmware.

To update, place the dish on Galaxy19 and select "UPDATE NOW" in the OTA Menu.

Most of that recent update is testing that I did and forwarded the quirks to SatelliteAv to duplicate

Any quirks you find post them so they can try it out
