General Sports Trivia

Here's a question in honor of Yankee Stadium:

What player hit the most homers by an opponent at Yankee Stadium?

Who won the 1928 High School National Championship in basketball?

The HS in Ashland, Kentucky?

Dang! How did you find that?

This is my High School that I went to, so that is how I know it.

The name of the school back then was just Ashland High, it is now called Paul G. Blazer High School.

I looked at your location in the upper right hand corner of your profile. ;)

I figured the question was so obscure, it had to be something significant to you. :D

I should have changed that before I asked the question.

Are the Lions involved?

And were they playing in New Orleans?

Tulane stadium. Why did Larry Farmer walk on for John Wooden at UCLA?

You'd have to be old as dirt and from the Denver area to know that answer. Larry Farmer was sixth man on his high school (Manual) in Denver. He didn't improve that much in college to make All America as a senior, his high school team was that good. This is easier-- Larry Farmer holds a record as a player at UCLA, what is that record? Hint: freshman didn't play in this era.:D

Bill said that the Red Sox became the first team in 35 years to clinch a playoff berth by defeating a 20 game winner.

Try and name the team that did the same thing in 1973 and the 20-game winner who was victimized.

I will take a wild guess here....The Mets beat Fergueson Jenkins to Clinch the NL east.

Mickey Owen--Dodger catcher 4th game 1941 World Series (I have an autographed baseball from him and an autographed Silver Certificate from Frank Leahy). The baseball and dollar bill were signed in Leahy's home town in 1948. That town is?:D
