A friend of mine used to have DISH which came into the house by way of the main cable junction box outside his house. He cancelled that (dish is left up there) and now has cable tv through the outlet in his family room. So my question is if he wants to put up a fta system in addition to his cable tv how does the connection go? One way that I have at my place was put up the dish and drill through the wall and bring the RG-6 cable and connect to stb. Is it possible to connect by way of the main cable box that is outside wall of his garage and be able to receive both cable tv and fta over the same one cable outlet that is in his family room? How are most people bringing in the signal from their fta system into their homes? Once you have the dish installed and once you connected one end of the rg-6 to the lnb how do you guys route the cable into your homes? Do you do a straight connection by wall of drilling into the wall or connect at the main box attached to your homes. Some feedback would be helpful.

You can use a diplexer to combine both Cable and satellite then another diplexer inside the house to split them back up again. ALWAYS best to run an independent cable for FTA (IMO)
