Game plan question

I am currently checking out what ESPN3 offers through my XBOX. It looks like everything from GP is available to me for free on my XBOX. Why would ESPN give this away for free? What am I missing?

Here is a list of all the Gameplan games available today.


From looking at ESPN3.com they appear to be different games.

If I wanted it on TV, I'd go with the Multi-Sport package. Most of the games on ESPN3 are on the RSNs not to mention you'll get NHL, MLB, NFL, Red Zone, Big Ten and NBA if you don't already. Watching a lot of the replays last year, I had football on every night. Couldn't have been happier.
