If that HITS mux is ITC you would need a commercial DC-2 that does combo (AKA megapipe) since its not in 4DTV compatible mode. If you have to sub your out of luck unless your cable or commercial establishment. I think that mux is moving early next year. The 4DTV compatible mux on C3 (AMC-3) 131w (The MTV suite masters) Which they won't sell us anymore  is fully encrypted.

i was googling to see what i could find on mtv jams (i love rap video i dont know why i just do) and i came across a acker thread that reads...

"with Nag 3 quickly building up I tought some of you may like this info

Digicipher 2
(Requires a 4DTV receiver and knowledge of how to use generic satellites. These channels cannot be seen with an FTA receiver.)

Galaxy 15 (133w)

MTV Jams: Hip-hop music videos."

of course they had more fta chans listed but this is the only one i was interested in. i checked lyngsat and on 133 it is under the HITS package

also they list it on these sats too

Satellites Intelsat 805
Intelsat 9
AMC 11
Galaxy 15

Some are powervu which i know is encrypted but the date on that thread was 12-1-08 so if they are seeing it what kind of receiver does megapipe?

sorry to bug but i really want this channel :D

It might have been ITC for a bit when your info was posted but Photoman checked it with the proper receiver and it's encrypted now, same as the Master mux on 131w when I checked it.

To try to receive those combo muxes while ITC you need a Motorola DSR 4800 or a Digitrans DTE 7150.

BOOOO! damn! And you say NPS isn't selling, so there's no way to sub correct?

MTV Jams used to be included in the MTV Master suite that is over on 131w from NPS and SRL in January 2007 Viacom decided to not sell it to them anymore. We picked up most of the channels on W5 from HITS but MTV Jams is not included. MTV2, MTV Hits, Nicktoons, Noggin, The N, VH1 Classic, CMT Pure, and VH1 Soul are in that package. The ones that are missing are MTV Jams, Nick Too (Nick W) and Logo. I would like to get Nick Too again or Nick for Nick at night but NPS said they can't get it.

What I hate is there are channels that the 4DTV can decode that they won't sell us or NPS has too reuplink. The kicker part is they were all available to C band subscribers for many years but now they say no, which is a crock  I wonder sometimes if NPS is the one holding out vs the programming company because it is not in there best interest financially

i was really hoping that when i get the big guy up i could subscribe to 4dtv and be better off than the cox subscribers in our area. sadly though it seems that cox has everything i want.

Another thing I used to like about c-band/4dtv subscriptions was when you would sign up for one channel and end up getting 2-3 lesser channels to boot., Heck if you could select any of the 4dtv channels ala carte like your could with VCII I'd be happy.

There still is some ala carte especially with SRL. But it is nothing like in the past. I loved ala carte and C band prices. C band still has the best prices but it's getting close to LSD & Cable with some of the packages that NPS sells. It would make the most sense to first offer the masters uplinked by the programmer. If something was in PowerVu or DC-2 combo then use HITS and if HITS don't have it in a 4D format then uplink it. I wish I could find out the truth with the programmers and the masters. I think if you flashed enough cash in front of them they would let us get the masters again.
