Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder revealed a first look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman at Comic-Con Saturday and we have to admit she looks every bit the part of an Amazon Princess.Keeping in the vein of Sad Batman, Gadot's Wonder Woman's costume isn't nearly as bright and cheery as the classic get-up. (Though, thankfully, the tiara and gauntlets remain relatively untouched.) In the photo, Gadot is clenching a sword, but if you look closely, you can see her Lasso of Truth slung on her right hip.The panel also revealed a first clip from the film, which featured Batman (Ben Affleck) sending the Bat-Signal into the clouds, out of which Superman (Henry Cavill) appears (as reported by io9). And if the title of the film didn't give it away, this isn't a happy encounter. Both Batman and Superman have glowing eyes and they look pissed!Batman vs. Superman will hit theaters May 6, 2016.

Where this news leaves the production is currently unknown. The film was set to be released on June 23, 2017.Sources tell Variety that test offers were set to go out to four actors for one of the male leads films on Monday. It had been rumored that the role Scott Eastwood had nabbed for “Suicide Squad” was Steve Trevor, the love interest of Wonder Woman, but sources now say that is not true and that the four actors testing would be for the role of Trevor.“Wonder Woman” would be the first major film job for MacLaren following her work on television shows such as “Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones.” She is repped by ICM Partners.

But, according to multiple sources close to the project, the director’s vision for the movie was vastly different from the studio’s view. MacLaren envisioned the DC Comics-based “Wonder Woman” movie as an epic origin tale in the vein of “Braveheart,” whereas Warner wanted a more character-driven story that was less heavy on action.Warner executives, these insiders said, became increasingly concerned about MacLaren directing a large-scale, action-packed production when her experience was limited to the small screen, where she made her name directing episodes of “Game of Thrones,” “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead.”The studio is expected to stick with a more character-driven movie with Jenkins on board. It looks as though Chris Pine has finally been confirmed for ‘Wonder Woman’, after much speculation that he may have been offered a role.According to The Wrap, the 34-year-old ‘Star Trek’ actor has signed a deal to appear as Steve Trevor in the upcoming ‘Wonder Woma’ movie.“Chris Pine has closed a deal to play Steve Trevor opposite Gal Gadot in ‘Wonder Woman’,” they revealed. “Pine joins the DC Movie Universe in a multi-picture deal that includes sequel options, according to insiders.”Of course, Pine had been rumoured for the role of Steve Trevor for some time, but amidst speculation that he may also be linked to the Green Lantern movie, it looked as though he may have been signing up to play iconic DC hero, Hal Jordan.“There had been speculation that Pine was up for a role in WB’s upcoming ‘Green Lantern Corps’ and that the ‘Wonder Woman’ rumors were just a smokescreen, but that particular popular fanboy theory proved to be unfounded.”Instead, it seems that Pine has landed the role of Wonder Woman’s love interest, Steve Trevor. As Batman V Superman gains its coat of special effects, and the various stages of editing, scoring, grading and sound mixing are completed, Deborah Snyder, along with Roven, is watching over a sandbox that stretches around the world. Jenkins is in London prepping Wonder Woman, which will shoot there this autumn. The report comes from Yahoo Italy, which states that Wonder Woman will be setting up shop in this region, aka Lucania, of Southern Italy. Basilicata encompasses a slew of territories, including the ancient city of Mattera, where films like the Biblical epics Ben Hur and Pasolini were filmed. While plot details on the film are unknown at this time, the exotic locale, which also includes lush seaside locations, are perfect for Themyscira, the home island of Wonder Woman. Again, it’s unknown if audiences will see this island in the film, but take a look at this video tour of Basilicata, including Potenza.

The second half of the film takes place during modern day.”Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard that ‘Wonder Woman’ will hop through the ages…but Gonzalez claims that previous reports weren’t exactly on the nose.“Last fall, Bleeding Cool did a story saying the Wonder Woman standalone film will take place during the 1920s with later sequels taking place during World War II and then modern day,” he said. “Well, according to my sources here in Hollywood that is not exactly true.”But could we really see Wonder Woman during the early-1900s?“With Wonder Woman rumored to be at least 200 years old during the events of Batman v Superman, it is within the realm of possibility that Diana was around during the first World War.”Unfortunately, we have very little in the way of concrete information about the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ solo film… and a lot of this is merely rumours based on other rumours. One aspect many fans will be interested in is casting, as only Gadot and Chris Pine (playing Steve Trevor) are officially on board. Now, we may know who WB is eyeing to play the movie’s villains.Heroic Hollywood is reporting that the studio is looking to add Eva Green and Sean Bean to the cast. Wonder Woman hits theaters, it's time that details surrounding the project begin to emerge.Den of Geek is reporting that the upcoming film will take place in three different time periods, with a chance that each period will become a separate act for the film.According to the site's anonymous source, the film will begin on the island of Themyscira, which fans of the Amazon princess — played by Gal Gadot (Fast Five, Furious 6) — will know is where her story originally began in the comic book series during the 1940's. Although there's not a specific date allotted for when Wonder Women would be on the island in the film, it will act as a completely separate period.The film will then move into a World War I setting, allegedly dropping the heroine smack dab into the middle of it all during 1916. While it's questionable as to why Warner Bros.' would use the first World War as opposed to second one — a motif has been used as the focal point or backdrop for thousands of movies in the past — there's a good possibility the studio wants to distance its period film from Marvel's Captain America: First Avenger, which takes place during World War II.Finally, the third act will see Wonder Woman enter the modern age and catch up time-wise with fellow Justice League members Batman and Superman. Now there’s new information reiterating that we might see classic foes Circe and Ares as the main antagonists.JoBlo has heard that Circe and Ares will be allied against the heroine in Wonder Woman, though Ares is more of a "puppet master" working behind the scenes. Ares will wear his standard mythological armor, while Circe’s attire is described as a "cloth-based purple get up." Among the many mythological/mystical creatures that are said to appear in the movie is an army of "red or green demonic monsters with horns and wings" that Ares will send to prevent Wonder Woman from stopping Circe.Speaking of her, it’s said she’ll turn into a "Chimera-like monster" during her battle with Wonder Woman in the finale. It was also mentioned that there are scenes set in World War I that show how Diana defeated Ares the first time, though it’s unclear whether these will be flashbacks or take place early in the story. At nearly six feet tall, the Australian actor could certainly cut an imposing figure on screen if she wanted to. Though she’s most known for transformative dramatic roles, like her Oscar-winning portrayal of author Virginia Woolf in 2002’s The Hours, how badass will it be to see Kidman get in there and throw down alongside of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman? As if we weren’t excited enough.While the identity of Kidman’s character is being kept under lock and key, the report supposes that she could play Hippolyta. We’ll have to treat all of this as a rumor for now of course, but Heroic Hollywood reckon they’ve uncovered some very interesting information regarding the motivations of the villains in Patty Jenkins’ solo Wonder Woman movie, which is scheduled to begin shooting in London very soon.We’ve already heard that Ares (possibly Sean Bean) and Circe (maybe Eva Green) would serve as the main antagonist in the film (though this is still unconfirmed), but now we might just have details on what drives them, and how they come into conflict with Gal Gadot’s Princess Diana.According to the site, Ares will use Circe to draw out Wonder Woman and keep her busy while he attempts to get his hands on an Amazonian sword which would grant him unlimited power, and allow him to take over Olympus. Ares, the God of War, feeds off of the negative energy generated by death and destruction, so his plan is to kick-start World War III.They also mention the possibility of a cameo from Batman, who would observe Diana’s attempts to stop the bad guys. Apparently, she will still be searching for the sword in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice when the Dark Knight approaches her about what he witnessed.
