Gal Gadot is a Badass Looking Wonder Woman
As I noted a while back, I was pumped about Gal Gadot’s casting as Wonder Woman, and now we have our first visual evidence that she can pull the roll off. CBR has the photo, but you can just look at it here, too:

That is one badass looking Wonder Woman. http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2014/07/26/gal-gadot-is-a-badass-looking-wonder-woman/
Get a First Look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman
Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder revealed a first look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman at Comic-Con Saturday and we have to admit she looks every bit the part of an Amazon Princess.Keeping in the vein of Sad Batman, Gadot's Wonder Woman's costume isn't nearly as bright and cheery as the classic get-up. (Though, thankfully, the tiara and gauntlets remain relatively untouched.) In the photo, Gadot is clenching a sword, but if you look closely, you can see her Lasso of Truth slung on her right hip.The panel also revealed a first clip from the film, which featured Batman (Ben Affleck) sending the Bat-Signal into the clouds, out of which Superman (Henry Cavill) appears (as reported by io9). And if the title of the film didn't give it away, this isn't a happy encounter. Both Batman and Superman have glowing eyes and they look pissed!Batman vs. Superman will hit theaters May 6, 2016.

The Wonder Woman Movie Will Go In A Different Direction Than We Thought http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Wonder-Woman-Movie-Go-Different-Direction-Than-We-Thought-67967.html
In 2017, the Wonder Woman movie should prove to be a rather major event. Starring Gal Gadot in the titular role, the solo film will be the first live-action feature about the legendary comic book character, and the movie should play a huge role in further establishing the growing DC Cinematic Universe. But what can we actually expect to see unfold plot-wise? Well, if new rumors can be believed, the story will be delivering an origin for the Amazonian demigod that will go in a very different direction than you are probably expecting.Warning: What follows may be considered spoilers to some (if it actually turns out to be true). If you don't wish to know any big details about the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, please click on another one of our site's wonderful articles!

Michelle MacLaren Inks ‘Wonder Woman’ Gig https://tv.yahoo.com/news/michelle-maclaren-inks-wonder-woman-231144617.html
As expected, Warner Bros. has signed Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad helmer Michelle MacLaren to direct Wonder Woman, the Gal Gadot-starring tentpole slated to hit theaters in 2017. The DC Comics superheroine standalone will be developed by MacLaren with scribes the studio’s still keeping under wraps; Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, and Debbie Snyder are producing alongside Richard Suckle. MacLaren was atop WB’s shortlist of potential helmers for the high profile tentpole, which will continue WB’s DC superhero universe after Snyder’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice and David Ayer’s Suicide Squad in 2016.

‘Wonder Woman’ Actress Gal Gadot Responds To Claims She’s ‘Too Skinny’ http://screenrant.com/wonder-woman-actress-gal-gadot-too-skinny/
After years of it seeming that Wonder Woman would never be brought to the big screen (or small, for that matter), fan prayers were answered by Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder – but they didn’t have long to celebrate the news that Diana would join Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice before the Amazonian princess’ casting once again divided the conversation. Nearly every fan saw Fast & Furious actress Gal Gadot as a surprising choice for the part, but some saw it as a misguided decision altogether. We were among those who argued that the Israeli actress could bring some unique strengths to the role, but for an outspoken chunk of the audience, it wasn’t Gadot’s nationality, costume, or even her short resume that caused concern – but her physique. Questions of how well an actor can fulfill the physical demands of a superhero role are hard to avoid, but with Wonder Woman, they were more passionate than usual. Thankfully, Gadot herself has now responded to the criticism surrounding her casting, calling much of it “empty talk.”

‘Wonder Woman’ Movie Loses Director Michelle MacLaren https://www.yahoo.com/movies/s/wond...movie-due-creative-differences-234650219.html
Michelle MacLaren has exited as the director of Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s “Wonder Woman” film due to creative differences, sources tell Variety.“Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct ‘Wonder Woman’ together,” the studio said in a statement.Gal Gadot is still attached to star, and Jason Fuchs is on board to pen the script. The studio was in the middle of pre-production, trying to lock down other roles for the film. Where this news leaves the production is currently unknown. The film was set to be released on June 23, 2017.Sources tell Variety that test offers were set to go out to four actors for one of the male leads films on Monday. It had been rumored that the role Scott Eastwood had nabbed for “Suicide Squad” was Steve Trevor, the love interest of Wonder Woman, but sources now say that is not true and that the four actors testing would be for the role of Trevor.“Wonder Woman” would be the first major film job for MacLaren following her work on television shows such as “Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones.” She is repped by ICM Partners.

‘Wonder Woman’ Finds New Director https://www.yahoo.com/movies/s/wonder-woman-finds-director-231351960.html
After Michelle MacLaren dropped out of the “Wonder Woman” movie as director, sources tell Variety that Patty Jenkins has been tapped to take over the job.MacLaren left the project earlier this week due to creative differences with the studio. Sources say her departure was only a minor speed bump, and production is still set to begin in the fall as originally planned.

‘Wonder Woman': The Story Behind Michelle MacLaren’s Exit https://www.yahoo.com/movies/s/wonder-woman-michelle-maclaren-wb-had-clashing-visions-171629086.html
While Warner Bros. made a swift decision this week to hire Patty Jenkins as its new “Wonder Woman” director, industry insiders are still chattering about why original helmer Michelle MacLaren suddenly vanished from the project. The studio is declining to elaborate on the cliched “creative differences” joint statement that was issued when the two parted ways. But, according to multiple sources close to the project, the director’s vision for the movie was vastly different from the studio’s view. MacLaren envisioned the DC Comics-based “Wonder Woman” movie as an epic origin tale in the vein of “Braveheart,” whereas Warner wanted a more character-driven story that was less heavy on action.Warner executives, these insiders said, became increasingly concerned about MacLaren directing a large-scale, action-packed production when her experience was limited to the small screen, where she made her name directing episodes of “Game of Thrones,” “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead.”The studio is expected to stick with a more character-driven movie with Jenkins on board. Also an experienced TV director of shows including “The Killing,” she cut her teeth on the indie feature “Monster.”MacLaren was also unaccustomed to the laborious development process associated with making movies. One source described that process as “tortuous” when it came to the pre-production of “Wonder Woman.” After Jason Fuchs delivered his script, the studio put as many as five other writers on the project to work up various scripts while executives simultaneously tested story concepts. “They didn’t like MacLaren’s test,” said one studio executive. MacLaren’s rep declined comment. One of the reasons that Warner acted so quickly in picking a replacement for MacLaren was to make sure the studio stayed on track for the film’s planned fall start date and 2017 release. The studio will now look to get Jenkins up to speed quickly and is already preparing to find the male lead and love interest for “Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot. Test offers for a handful of actors are expected in the next week.

Chris Pine Joins Wonder Woman http://news.yahoo.com/chris-pine-joins-wonder-woman-074755815.html
It looks as though Chris Pine has finally been confirmed for ‘Wonder Woman’, after much speculation that he may have been offered a role.According to The Wrap, the 34-year-old ‘Star Trek’ actor has signed a deal to appear as Steve Trevor in the upcoming ‘Wonder Woma’ movie.“Chris Pine has closed a deal to play Steve Trevor opposite Gal Gadot in ‘Wonder Woman’,” they revealed. “Pine joins the DC Movie Universe in a multi-picture deal that includes sequel options, according to insiders.”Of course, Pine had been rumoured for the role of Steve Trevor for some time, but amidst speculation that he may also be linked to the Green Lantern movie, it looked as though he may have been signing up to play iconic DC hero, Hal Jordan.“There had been speculation that Pine was up for a role in WB’s upcoming ‘Green Lantern Corps’ and that the ‘Wonder Woman’ rumors were just a smokescreen, but that particular popular fanboy theory proved to be unfounded.”Instead, it seems that Pine has landed the role of Wonder Woman’s love interest, Steve Trevor. Known in the comic books as an intelligence officer for the US Army Air Corps, his plane crashed on the mysterious Paradise Island… where he was nursed back to health by Wonder Woman herself.

Shooting Dates Confirmed for 'Wonder Woman' and 'Justice League' https://games.yahoo.com/news/shooting-dates-confirmed-wonder-woman-151000913.html
With Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad filming well under way, the question arises of "when will the rest of these DC films start filming?" Well, in a recent article in Empire magazine, reported by GeekTyrant, the starting shooting dates were revealed. "Logistically it is staggering. As Batman V Superman gains its coat of special effects, and the various stages of editing, scoring, grading and sound mixing are completed, Deborah Snyder, along with Roven, is watching over a sandbox that stretches around the world. Jenkins is in London prepping Wonder Woman, which will shoot there this autumn. Suicide Squad, already well underway in Toronto under the earthy gaze of Ayer, will shoot through to September. ‘I do watch the dailies,’ she promises, enthusing about the film’s ‘street quality.’ They are already doing soft prep for the Justice League, which will begin shooting in the spring, and overseeing the script for Aquaman, which James Wan will direct.”

Wonder Woman May Shoot In This Exotic Location http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Wonder-Woman-May-Shoot-Exotic-Location-80247.html
Wonder Woman is just about all set to go in front of cameras. It has a star (Gal Gadot), a director (Patty Jenkins), a screenplay (by Jason Fuchs), and now it looks like it has an exotic location. A new report has hit the web suggesting the highly anticipated DC superhero film will be shot in Italy’s Basilicata. The report comes from Yahoo Italy, which states that Wonder Woman will be setting up shop in this region, aka Lucania, of Southern Italy. Basilicata encompasses a slew of territories, including the ancient city of Mattera, where films like the Biblical epics Ben Hur and Pasolini were filmed. While plot details on the film are unknown at this time, the exotic locale, which also includes lush seaside locations, are perfect for Themyscira, the home island of Wonder Woman. Again, it’s unknown if audiences will see this island in the film, but take a look at this video tour of Basilicata, including Potenza.

Wonder Woman Set During World War I? http://news.yahoo.com/wonder-woman-set-during-world-war-i-230608575.html
‘Wonder Woman’ might just focus on its titular heroine long before she joined the Justice League… as a new rumour suggests her solo outing will be set during World War I.According to Umberto Gonzalez at Heroic Hollywood, the upcoming DC superhero movie will take us back to a very different age.“The latest rumor I am hearing is the first half of Wonder Woman standalone film will actually take place during World War I,” he revealed. “Again, World War I not II. The second half of the film takes place during modern day.”Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard that ‘Wonder Woman’ will hop through the ages…but Gonzalez claims that previous reports weren’t exactly on the nose.“Last fall, Bleeding Cool did a story saying the Wonder Woman standalone film will take place during the 1920s with later sequels taking place during World War II and then modern day,” he said. “Well, according to my sources here in Hollywood that is not exactly true.”But could we really see Wonder Woman during the early-1900s?“With Wonder Woman rumored to be at least 200 years old during the events of Batman v Superman, it is within the realm of possibility that Diana was around during the first World War.”Unfortunately, we have very little in the way of concrete information about the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ solo film… and a lot of this is merely rumours based on other rumours. In fact, I get the feeling it’ll be some time before we find out whether they’re anywhere near the truth.Either way, it looks as though Gal Gadot’s solo outing as Wonder Woman is going to be one to watch. But will it pan out as the rumours report? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

Wonder Woman: Eva Green & Sean Bean Eyed for Villains http://screenrant.com/wonder-woman-villains-eva-green-sean-bean/
Even though it is not slated to hit theaters until June 2017, the solo Wonder Woman film (starring Gal Gadot, directed by Patty Jenkins), is actually going to begin principal photography this fall. Given that Gadot will also be appearing in Zack Snyder’s Justice League Part One (shooting in spring 2016, also due in 2017), it makes sense that Warner Bros. would start production on Wonder Woman this early.Since filming will commence in just a couple of months (at the time of this writing), we’re poised to learn more about Wonder Woman in the near future. One aspect many fans will be interested in is casting, as only Gadot and Chris Pine (playing Steve Trevor) are officially on board. Now, we may know who WB is eyeing to play the movie’s villains.Heroic Hollywood is reporting that the studio is looking to add Eva Green and Sean Bean to the cast. Green would play Circe the Sorceress, while Bean would bring Ares, the God of War to life. It’s important to keep in mind that the report specifically says the two are being eyed for the roles, which is different from being in talks or receiving an offer. Still, not many would argue with these choices if they did come through.

Wonder Woman May Cast Two Major Villains, Get The Details
While we’re still waiting for Princess Diana to make her DC film debut in next summer’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Brothers is still moving full speed ahead on the Wonder Woman movie. With production planning to begin in November, it’s time to get to casting the rest of the players and word is they already have their eye on two great actors to play two great villains. Eva Green as Circe, the Sorceress and Sean Bean as Ares, the God of War.

The DC Character Gal Gadot Almost Played Instead Of Wonder Woman http://www.cinemablend.com/new/DC-Character-Gal-Gadot-Almost-Played-Instead-Wonder-Woman-83277.html
Gal Gadot made a name for herself in Hollywood playing Gisele Yashar in the Fast & Furious movies, but she was propelled to new levels of fame last year when she was cast as Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe. However, that wasn’t her only opportunity to appear in a DC movie. It turns out she was almost cast as one of the villains in Man of Steel.During an interview with Israeli website XNet (translated via Batman-News.com), Gadot revealed that before she was cast as Diana of Themyscira, her pregnancy prevented her from playing a character in the 2013 Superman reboot, who sounds a lot like the rogue Kryptonian Faora. Gadot said:

Wonder Woman movie reportedly takes place in three different time periods https://games.yahoo.com/news/wonder-woman-movie-reportedly-takes-170002175.html
With less than two years until Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman hits theaters, it's time that details surrounding the project begin to emerge.Den of Geek is reporting that the upcoming film will take place in three different time periods, with a chance that each period will become a separate act for the film.According to the site's anonymous source, the film will begin on the island of Themyscira, which fans of the Amazon princess — played by Gal Gadot (Fast Five, Furious 6) — will know is where her story originally began in the comic book series during the 1940's. Although there's not a specific date allotted for when Wonder Women would be on the island in the film, it will act as a completely separate period. The film will then move into a World War I setting, allegedly dropping the heroine smack dab into the middle of it all during 1916. While it's questionable as to why Warner Bros.' would use the first World War as opposed to second one — a motif has been used as the focal point or backdrop for thousands of movies in the past — there's a good possibility the studio wants to distance its period film from Marvel's Captain America: First Avenger, which takes place during World War II.Finally, the third act will see Wonder Woman enter the modern age and catch up time-wise with fellow Justice League members Batman and Superman. The events in the film's third act will reportedly set her up for her role in Justice League Part I, which is scheduled to be released at the end of 2017.

Rumor: The Wonder Woman Movie's Storyline Will Span Centuries http://io9.com/rumor-the-wonder-woman-movies-storyline-will-span-cent-1735571232
Following recent rumors that the film will go back to World War I, there’s now rumors from Den of Geek that the film will split its three different acts across three different time periods: Ancient times for scenes set on Diana’s home of Themyscira, the aforementioned World War I segment (specifically 1916), and then scenes set during the modern day.Interestingly, Den of Geek also posits that Wonder Woman will have different outfits in each time period, different takes on her classic comic book look, culminating with the “modern” outfit we see in Batman v Superman.

Who Wonder Woman's Primary Villains Will Be http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Who-Wonder-Woman-Primary-Villains-90137.html
With Wonder Woman gearing up to begin production next month, we’re getting a better sense of what to expect from the Amazon warrior’s first solo cinematic adventure. We’ve know for several years that Gal Gadot will play the DCEU’s Diana of Themyscira, Chris Pine was cast several months ago as love interest Steve Trevor, and multiple reports have indicated the movie will feature different time periods. Now there’s new information reiterating that we might see classic foes Circe and Ares as the main antagonists.JoBlo has heard that Circe and Ares will be allied against the heroine in Wonder Woman, though Ares is more of a "puppet master" working behind the scenes. Ares will wear his standard mythological armor, while Circe’s attire is described as a "cloth-based purple get up." Among the many mythological/mystical creatures that are said to appear in the movie is an army of "red or green demonic monsters with horns and wings" that Ares will send to prevent Wonder Woman from stopping Circe.Speaking of her, it’s said she’ll turn into a "Chimera-like monster" during her battle with Wonder Woman in the finale. It was also mentioned that there are scenes set in World War I that show how Diana defeated Ares the first time, though it’s unclear whether these will be flashbacks or take place early in the story. The information lines up closely with a report released last month, which also said that Eva Green and San Bean are being looked at to play Circe and Ares, respectively.Circe and Ares are among Wonder Woman’s greatest enemies in the comics (arguably ranking only behind The Cheetah), both of course being based upon the same-named Greek mythological figures. Circe is a powerful sorceress whose magic lets her do things like conjure illusions, shape shift, and control minds, but her main schtick is turning men into animals. Her most notable appearances in other media have been in the Justice League Unlimited episode "This Little Piggy" and the video game DC Universe Online.

Wonder Woman Is Adding An Oscar Winning Actress http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Wonder-Woman-Adding-An-Oscar-Winning-Actress-91977.html
If you’ve been paying attention, you already know that superhero movies are shockingly popular. Where they were once a more fringe endeavor, they’re now very much the mainstream, and attracting the highest quality of actors to appear in them—just look at the incredible cast of Doctor Strange. Not to be left out, DC’s upcoming Wonder Woman is looking to add Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman. The Amazonian warrior won’t make her latest big screen appearance until next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but according to the Wrap and their sources, Kidman is in negotiations to join her subsequent solo jaunt in 2017.There is no word on the precise nature of Kidman’s role, though the report says that she will play a high-ranking Amazonian. At nearly six feet tall, the Australian actor could certainly cut an imposing figure on screen if she wanted to. Though she’s most known for transformative dramatic roles, like her Oscar-winning portrayal of author Virginia Woolf in 2002’s The Hours, how badass will it be to see Kidman get in there and throw down alongside of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman? As if we weren’t excited enough. While the identity of Kidman’s character is being kept under lock and key, the report supposes that she could play Hippolyta. In the comics she is Dianna Prince’s mother, as well as the queen of the Amazons, and Kidman definitely has a regal air and bearing about her, though we’ll have to wait and see on that front. Though she’s not an Amazon, we’ve heard that Circe is likely one of the villains in Wonder Woman (Eva Green is one name that has been mentioned in connection to the part), and how freaking great would it be to see Nicole Kidman play the antagonistic sorceress?

Possible Wonder Woman Spoilers Relating To The Movie’s Villains http://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/woman-spoilers-relating-movies-villains/
We’ll have to treat all of this as a rumor for now of course, but Heroic Hollywood reckon they’ve uncovered some very interesting information regarding the motivations of the villains in Patty Jenkins’ solo Wonder Woman movie, which is scheduled to begin shooting in London very soon. We’ve already heard that Ares (possibly Sean Bean) and Circe (maybe Eva Green) would serve as the main antagonist in the film (though this is still unconfirmed), but now we might just have details on what drives them, and how they come into conflict with Gal Gadot’s Princess Diana.According to the site, Ares will use Circe to draw out Wonder Woman and keep her busy while he attempts to get his hands on an Amazonian sword which would grant him unlimited power, and allow him to take over Olympus. Ares, the God of War, feeds off of the negative energy generated by death and destruction, so his plan is to kick-start World War III.They also mention the possibility of a cameo from Batman, who would observe Diana’s attempts to stop the bad guys. Apparently, she will still be searching for the sword in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice when the Dark Knight approaches her about what he witnessed.
