trying to line up g10r with my primestar.. what is a really hot TP, currently live, that I could try for? Thanks guys.

The Tube...

DFreq : 11718 MHz (V) SR : 27.691

KFDF.....

DFreq : 12112 MHz (V) SR : 4.444

I would use KFDF as Pete noted

The Tube is on a TP that is lower powered so its a bugger to pick up when tuning.

Yeah, im only getting a quality of 46 on the tube transponder with my fortec and my winegard 30" dish. Thinking of upgrading to a 1.2m dish but not sure if it will work with my sg2100 motor.

Dawg
Thats about what I get too...actually its between 38-45
11799 I can get a 65-70 no problem and the others are higher than that

The SG2100 will support a 1.2m dish, but if you can get rid of the excess weight, do it.

I have a 1m DirecPC dish that I wanted to put on the motor but the mount on the back is too heavy. I know people have rigged it to work with some brackets and such :)

Iceberg, I'm just hating the video breakup. Thinking next best thing is updating the lnb to low noise one.

When I pointed my P* dish I used 121W then went from there. 121W is hotter then 123W in my area is easier to find.

Good luck!

Pete, not to question the MOS, (Master of Satellite :) ) but KFDF shows on lyngsat as 12114 not 12112. And the Tube says 11720. Am I missing something?

I take the coordinates from my receiver, and they have been blind scanned in, Lyngsat is right!

When you do a blind scan it stops just short of the exact frequency it seems, both will work but always trust Lyngsat. :)

Once again, thanks Pete. You are always helpful. I am going to stab at it again this evening. :)

Hey Ken, when you point at 121, what TP and SR do you use exactly to find it? Thanks.. I am having a heck of a time finding g10r. Could someone give me the elevation for Columbus, OH?

Put me in the same boat... I got a bit of Telstar 5 (poor quality), some "TOR TBC A, WINNIPEG C CBC/NW," and the super-duper-mega-overpowered Dish 110 and 119... but G10, my -only- primary target, has eluded me...

Supposedly it'll be just slightly west of Dish 119. I've gotten nothing thus far past 119; everything's been east of there. .. I'll keep trying ;)

Edit / Update: This is really frustrating.
After the above post, I decided to move the dish, mount and all.
It's now on the roof, on top of the swamp cooler, the highest I can get it. Actually improves the line-of-sight to the horizon signifacantly.

I'm currently locked onto Galaxy 13/Horizons 1. It actually comes in pretty well; enough quality anyway to have a smooth non-glitched picture. I keep going back and forth between the giant signal that is Echo7 and Galaxy 13. There's only 6 measly degrees in there, and I can't find G10. I've tweaked the angle using G13 and Echo7, so it should be right on the money when I swing into the middle of the two. I know the setup works pretty well... I've found Telstar 5, Anik F1, obviously both Dish birds, and Galaxy 13 all in the past few hours. Not too bad for a .8 db old DirecPC dish. But this Asian tv I have now isn't half as interesting to me as G10. Any suggestions?
Also, if I just or some odd reason CAN'T get G10 on this dish, I'll leave it to the Wingard whenever that shows up. Considering this one will be stationary, what's a good alternative as a permenant target? I'm trying to hit the 'major' networks for the wife... you know, justifying my hours spent on the roof ;)

PS. Last edit of the night; add AMC4 to that list, I'm off to bed.

Galaxy 13/Horizons 1 has a surprisingly powerful set of transponders, I didn't expect to hit it but I usually get a 75% signal from that bird.

Try nudging your dish bracket down a up degrees, 3 or 4 should do it, if that doesn't work try moving it down 2 or 3 degrees until you hit it.
From a diseqc panel I usually hit Echostar9 first then click 5 units West until I lock onto G10R, you'll probably need to refresh the transponder every time you do that, it's one of the downfalls of a PCI card.

Are you hitting the birds in the arc to the far East? If you have those you probably need to swing the whole assembly clockwise a small amount then raise the dish angle a touch.

Suprisingly powerful, huh? If G10 is only half the power of G13, no wonder I can't find it.

I think I've nudged it every way in the world :p ... running back and forth from the roof to the PC. Seriously considering installing VNC on my pc and my son's all-in-one monitor deal, and trying to get a computer screen up there to adjust by.

Really? Often I can select a transponder and move the dish until I quality, no reloading needed. Will try it though, thanks. Also, This dish is stationary, not on the SG2100... no easy clicking for me!

Making G13 and Echo7 lined up perfect should give me the perfect hieght, but I'll try altering it. I didn't think I got the eastern birds anymore, but In trying to get Dish 110 as a 'parking spot' last night, I stumbled into AMC4. So apparently I'm still on the proper level about 25 degrees away from G10.

No, I have no clue why I'm up. Back to bed I go (hopefully), bbl.
Edit: Add SatMex5 to the list of verified sat finds for me.

http://www.lyngsat.com/echo9ia13.html

Try any of the ones listed. So what if you can not view them you just need a quility tp to insure you are on this sat. Then go from there.

It's a pain. I also should state that my dish is like 4 deg off in elv from it's markings. See what your offset is and use it set your elv if you are not doing so already.

Good luck and keep the faith. The Tube is worth it!

Thanks Ken. Appreciate the help... I am glad I am not the only one with this problem. :)

Thanks Ice.. :) I replied too quick before I read the whole thing from what Ken said. Why are these Linear polarites and Dish uses CP on everything else? Do they use both lnbs on thier setups? Just curious. I thought they were all CP.
