Ok folks...
Got the FyreTV... Fyred up!
First thing I did was grab screenshots. To do this I hooked the FyreTV up to a SlingBox Pro with HD Connect adapter. The FyreTV is hooked to the Slingbox Pro via component cables to the HD inputs on the Sliingbox Pro unit.
What I think is cool is that the FyreTV realizes it is using its HD outputs and in the menu screens it fills a 16 x 9 screen. Videos however are shown in 4x3 mode.
Below are screenshots of FyreTV in action and I am amazed how good the quality looks of the video. This is true DVD quality video. I do however understand that the video quality delivered by FyreTV will vary based on the quality of the video given to them by content providers, but if the video that is given to them looks great then it will look great on FyreTV.
I can't wait to get this box home tonight to see what it look like hooked up to a 50 inch HDTV via HDMI.
Once I am home I will review it in a better setting, looking at it with a Slingbox while impressive holds its challanges, mainly because the remote control of the unit is delayed about 4 to 5 seconds from when I hit the button on the remote.
Again this is not my review, but from what I have seen so far I am impressed. (And this is just a box with Alpha software... it can only get better!)
