Hey guys!
I got my FTA system going, and tracking. I have a Satpros DSR 500s receiver, Invacom universal .3 LNBF, 1 meter Primestar dish, and SG2100 HH motor drive.
With this setup I am receiving the Ku FTA channels.
Now I want to be able to tie this system into the BUD system (4DTV 920 receiver, a 15 degree LNB, 8 foot fiberglass dish, and regular motor drive), to get the C band FTA channels.
I used to have my Pansat 2000v receiver tied into the 4DTV. I was getting only the C band FTA cannels. This was before going to the system I now have.
Is there a site I can go to that would help me tie the new system into the C band system? Have anyone of you guys got a system tied in like that?
I know it can be done.
I have a DiSEqC 4 way switch and a splitter, that came with the Satpros DSR 500s receiver.
Thanks!

This is how you can do it:
http://www.dmsiusa.com/add_a_receiver.htm
Only you won't use the ku side of this diagram, you will use your ku system instead.
You will need a high frequency splitter, with a one port power passthrough, to split the C-band. Run the power passthrough side to the 922 receiver, and the other side to your diseqc switch. Then run the cable from your ku lnbf to the diseqc switch. Then run a cable from the diseqc switch to the SG 2100 motor. Then run a cable from the SG 2100 to the DVB receiver. Or, since you won't be using the SG2100 on the C-band side. You could put the diseqc switch between the SG 2100 motor and the DVB receiver. I've read it's best to use the ports in order on the diseqc switch, but I can't verify that, and I use the ports (in no particular order) most convenient for my purpose. If you put the diseqc switch outside, be sure and weatherproff it. This is an idea, you may find a better way?

Thank you, PSB and Al.
I was studying the menu on the Satpros DSR 500s receiver and under the LNB configuration section I can direct the paths of the DiSEqC switch. So this evening I am gonna try that and see what happens.
I am only using the C band FTA satellites on the C band system so I could use the IRD to aim the BUD to the C band birds.
I will let you know how this goes...

Voomvoom,
ever thought about taking typing classes???
LOL
Sure, I've thought about it. 35 years ago, when I was 16, my Guidance Counselor tried to get me to take typing. He said I might could use it in the future and it would be an easy credit. I said "Bah Humbug", that's womens work! Today, I sometimes regret my stupidity. But, some things never change. I've got a computer course inside this computer, but I doubt I'll ever use it. Spend to much time tinkering with FTA. Besides, you can't teach an old dog new tricks, and I'm really not too bad with 2 fingers, but I am a slow thinker and I usually think when I type.

Took typing classes in high school the year before they changed the name of the course to "keyboarding" and it became manditory for graduation.

Without a doubt the most useful thing I learned in high school!!! :D

LOL!!!
I learned to type in high school and throughout the years since I work on computers as a hobby and use the internet alot. I think I can do 35 words per minute.
