FTA receiver

Hi everyone. It's been a while since I've been on here, I was going to ask if any of you knew if a certain receiver was good for FTA. All of my stuff seems to be to old now to be of much use anymore. My Coolsat 8000 won't play ABC HD on 91 anymore without stuttering so they must have changed something about that signal. The one I saw on eBay was only like $28 but it's one of the ones mentioned in the sticky at the top of the page, so I'm not sure I want to try it, even though at that price I'd have nothing to lose, right?

I have the v7 and the v8. Both work fine but both have a few bugs. V7 is tiny. I like the lay out of the v8 better. I don't get any studded on the common problem networks. For the money it is a fine box.

If it was my money I would pass on the 1978.

I think there are better STB's for the same price range with better firmware support and features. I personally like if the importer can code for the STB in house and does not have to depend on someone in china.
