the only dish i have used is a 10 foot winegard i scraped (couldnt get it to work right) and an old primestar that has cracked

I want a shiny new dish

1. What brand of dish is good?
2. What size of dish do I need to get decent fta reception I live in the midwest so im in center of most satellite footprints.. I dont want one over 3 feet
3. Whats a cheap motor that has usals?

1. winegard
2. 30-36" would be fine
3. its not the motor that controls USALS, its the receiver that has to support it

not bad. I have a Geosat dish which is the same thing and it works really good. 36" dish that I use to have on G10 until I upgraded to a 40x30 primestat

This is what I bought was it a good buy for $75 shipped? Will a cheap s2100 work okay?

BUMP

well?? sorry about bumping this thread but im am getting sleepy
EDIT: some googling confirms this is a AZURE SHINE dish I kind of like the idea that they have with the rolled in edege

some dishes are taller than wider so they take that into consideration

The dish I use for my Starchoice system is a 75e which makes it sound like a 30" dish but its 37 wide x 27 high

works the same as a 30" dish

well it depends on your definition of "can't get"

things you "can't get" (ie: cant see) on KU

-scrambled channels (DUH! ;)
-DC II channels (need a 4DTV receiver)
-satellites that dont beam to the US
-satellites that you may have a line of site issue
-satellites that may be below your horizon

in all seriousness unless a channel is putting out very low power that dish will be fine.

im talking about channels that may not have enough quailty to watch due to a smaller dish
Also i have a DCII receiver the GI one that was used for hits2home what can i get with it???

honestly those are few and far between...the ones we cant get are when the stations send enough signal for a 20 foot dish to pick up a decent signal but for us nothing :D

Also i have a DCII receiver the GI one that was used for hits2home what can i get with it???

the 410? do a search on that. Most of us havent been able to get it to map to C-Band (W5 where H2H went to) but you can download Starchoice software/maps and get a few preview channels...check the C-Band area about it

any ku digital in the clear besides starchoice?
how do you edit maps i cant figure it out

nothing else that the 410 would pick up

as to how to edit maps, check the C-band area and search for 410..lots of info there on how to remap the box
