FTA Installation Problem

Need help - can't get locked on to a satellite. I have a Coolsat 6000 premium receiver, a Stab HH90 DisEqC 1.2 rotor, a FortecStar FC-90 dish and a InVacom Quad Polar 40mm horn LNB. My zip code is 55912. I've been trying to lock in on satellite IA 5 97.0 W using the motorized setting with the following settings:
Frequency (1) 11,749
DiSEqc motor USALS
Move Stop
Limit Motor control
Sat. Degree 097.0 W
Antenna Position 093.0 W/ 043.7 N
The best I an get is a Level in red of 87% and Quality of 6 - 8 % using a dish elevation of 34 degrees.
I also tried connecting the antenna wire directly to the LNB and then moving the whole unit oin the pole and changing the dish elevation gradually from 34 up to 40which then reduced the Level to the 70's.
Should I be receiving some sound on the TV? I am not getting any sound.
I checked the pole yesterday and it is perfectly straight up and down.

if your aiming your motor for the first time you should aim the motor at true south, in this case 93.0w which is bang on with IA6 93.0w

will give you an idea of whats on that bird. From there as long as your motor elev and dish elev are set by the book and your pole is 100% plumb, you should be able to tweak in the outer arcs.

Is this your first time setting up everything? If so, first thing to do is make sure your pole is level, both n/s and e/w - an unlevel (plumb) pole is bad news for if you have a motor. Next thing is to aim for true south, and mentioned. Before you do that though, make sure you have a good tp entered in to your fta box and can scan it in. Some advise that you should try to set up dish without motor at first so that you can get an idea of where the true south bird is, and then mark on the pole and the dish so that you know where to put the motor when you get it on... then it's just a matter of setting up the elevation on motor and dish since you should be lined up on azimuth.

Also, double check your elevations settings with what your manual(s) say they should be.

I would try to find the satellite without the motor first, see below for all angles to the satellites from your area...........


make sure your L.O. is set to 10750 and just use one Linear output for now.
