FTA in CUBA , helping a friend

I'm helping a friend in Cuba set up his Dish , I'm here in Chicago area and he's in GTMO .

Long story short he's a doctor who had been working in Africa , Namibia to be exact and that's how he got started w/ FTA , I've helped him thru e-mail many times and he has learned so much .

He had a 90cm dish in Africa , but because he was entering Cuba with a dish in his luggage he needed it to be smaller so he may have gotten a 60 cm or even a 45cm , I know that is small for FTA but he's hoping to get marginal signal , he's using a Universal LNB.

It's a very tough situation because of censorship in Cuba ,any FTA satellite dish is Illegal to have , he's hoping to get Hispasat (not for the Cuba Mux) and I've told him about that satellite @ the 123.0 spot which everyone likes to watch , told me he has a VCR ready so he can record the soaps for his wifey .

I know that the signal is much better on 123.0 nowadays , but does anyone think this is possible with the dish pictured in my last post. The more I look at it the more it resembles one of those tiny DTV dishes

I agree, that dish looks like the basic size of Dss dishes, if its there will not hurt
to try, he may want to consider somekind of adapter that attaches to window
where he can hide the dish inside the dwelling. use google and search, or
someone here can elaborate more on this issue, good luck.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but if he is at GTMO, any Cuban restrictions should not apply since it is under US jurisdiction.

GTMO as in Guantanamo City not Guantanamo Bay Naval Base.

BTW Dishpointer application works well even in Cuba.
