Not from either of my C-bands with servo motors, but it works good with 13v/18v switching on all my lnbf's. I use my 4dtv receiver for one of my BUDs and a Toshiba TRX 2200 for my other one. I also have a VBoxII (still in box) I've purchased for a 5' solid aluminum dish I have, but I've been to lazy to run the wiring into/under the house. I plan to use my Traxis DBS 3500 (still in box) with it, if I ever get off my behind?

The Coolsat 5000 will not control a LNB. You need the analog box for that

It will control a LNBF

LNB has 3 wires coming off of it to control polarity
LNBF doesn’t have those

can someone go to chat and help me set this thing up. ill be in there if anyone who has it can help me thanks :)

I Got My FTa coolsat 5000 receiver today and have been messing around with it all day. and still cant seem to get it to work like it suppose to i scan for channels and get a maybe 2 or 3 out of all? has anyone else had this problem if someone can help please do. everything is connect like it suppose to be. i have the 4x1 DiSEqC switch but it isnt hooked up i only have C-band Lnb no Ku yet. but is it suppose to be hooked up anyway?

.

i have the Coax from the LNB (Cband) pluged in to the lnb on the Coolsat 5000 Receiver Useing The Analog Receiver To Move My Dish And Adjust My Polarity am i doing something wrong?

nah that will work for right now. I suggest (as I did in the PM you sent me) to get a high frequency splitter and split it to both units

Aim the dish at say G4/G16 and scan horizontal. There should be some stuff on there like the nets and World Harvest Network

why does the screen do this it scans and finds one and starts doing this. why like its blury and flickers? hmm

He also said his Lifetimes wouldn't get sound, but sometimes it did later, i think. He let me watch the Coolsat 5000 in action thru live camera feed(no audio). It was cool! The only complaint i can think of is the lack of wired polarity control on this brand of reciever. Together on his analog reciever, we went from W6 AMC-6 (i use whatever names skyvision's latest magazine goes by) to G5, (G14 i think its now called?) and programmed in several sats, but i feel we missed two or three of the more important ones so far. GB (G11), T7 (IA13 or 23 something like that), and G0 (i think those Outdoor channels might be cool) We were also kinda thinking one of the settings was off, but maybe not, a couple of the analog transponders came in clear, afterall . It was getting kinda late for both of us, though.
I have just a general question. Is this all you find is by blind scanning? Just wondering, if you enter something specific like a frequency or symbol rate, is this a way to see something thats not scanned? If so, do you guys have a place you talk about this in private? (Thought i heard something along the lines of "you shouldn't 'blab' to the open forum")

There is a fair amount of stuff that is posted on Lyngsat and www.global-cm.net for C-Band but the rest is pretty much done via blind scanning. Those are the feeds :)

I do not have a Coolsat but what I write down may be helpful.

When you find a channel on a satellite that you know will be there set the analog unit to the proper sat and polarity, go into the coolsat (good to do this with two tv's) find the spot in the menu where you can punch in your own info (well first try to get all the info for the channel) When you find the right menu in the Coolsat enter the freq, SR select the correct polarity and enter in the pids you should get a signal meter here is when you will bump the big dish with the analog IRD east or west to get the best quality, after you get the best with bumping adjust the skew to get the quality on the Coolsat meter as high as possible.

Once you have done this save it and then look for blind scan or smart search whatever Coolsat calls it, select it scroll to the sat you adjusted select the right polarity and depending on if you want to do a lot of editing select scan fta only or scan fta and scrambled.

So lets say you are doing all this on H and your blind scan finds many channels now on this same satellite enter all your info for one V channel and you may need to adjust the skew to peak the quality and then do your
blind scan on V, don't forget to flip to a V channel on the analog IRD to tune.

I am not 100% sure if you can do all this with the Coolsat but from reading on many forums you should be able to do so.

If your quality is still very low on channels that other members are getting great you may need to tune your dish outside (if all the bumping and skewing does not help) because if the quality is low on a strong signal you will never pick up the weak ones, once locked on a digital channel and you peak it to the max and it is still low go outside push the dish softly down and see if the quality goes up if not push up this will determine if you need to work more on refector alignment.
