YET ANOTHER FREE BUD!!!

One of our new customers lives around the corner from me, it turns out.
As I drove by their house this morning on my way to the shop, I happened to look in their back yard and saw a Bud. I called him at noon hour, and asked " if he would like it gone, and how much he had to get for it". He said he needed to get it gone. I also have the receiver in the storage room , it's yours too. (Wouldn't it be nice if it's a DSR-922).
I'm like Yessssssss !!!!
I just got back from taking a quick look at it. It's a Unimesh, and appears to be about 10 feet. there are 3 cables leading away from the feed, I hope this one has a C/Ku feed. I'd think I'd died and went to heaven.
I'll take a closer look this weekend, and post back as I learn more.

great find

Do the string test to see if it warped. If it is warped stay far away.
It is probably good. Let us know how it goes and post pics when you set it up.

Yes, I did the test on the first one and it needed to be tweaked a bit.
So thanks to you guys, I've learned it is better to tweak it first if needed than to set it up and wonder why the signal strength is not what it should be.
I'll post pics when we go to take it down. It's snowing now so it'll be a while.

Hello kb2kir,
What is a string test? I asked Truckracer but he must be busy.
Thanks,
Tom

its where you run a string across the dish several different ways and see if they touch in the middle. if they touch then its the right shape if they don't then its slightly out of shape and some correction is needed. you can also take the measurments and get the proper FD for a dish this way.

Ok, Gabs. If you insist....
It's daylight on my way home from work now, so I'll get the camera....
In another post, Anole says pics of dishes are like porn to FTA ers.

... uhhhh... no, not me . . .

Well, actually, I would have said it, but someone beat me to it:
Great pictures... They are like porn to us FTA'ers :)

And do by all means... post some snow shots.
Remind us what it looks like.
And maybe I'll post some palm trees! ;)

i can post the mud shots cause we have got the rain :) i was hoping the folks in GA would get some cause i think they need some to fill that lake thats suppling those clams or mussles on the coast. but we still get it. oh well... mud mud :)

When you post a msg, just go down to the bottom of the page, or closer to the bottom anyway, and click on Go Advanced, seems like that is the way..there's a place to "manage attachments " (upload from your computer)

The Pics.

Ok, here goes... the white spots are snowflakes caught by the flash.
We wound up getting 5", not so bad.

great snow shots :) we don't see much here once every so often we have a good snow 6 inches or so probably once every ten years most of the time its like 1 inch and melts the next day. the tree in the third photo , a everygreen maybe a spruce tree , i love those with a covering of snow :) makes ya want to sit by the fire and drink a cup of hot chocalate :)

Gabs, Didn't think you got snow that far south.......I must say the winters in upstate New York are beautiful although long.
Also, the summers are warm but not excessively hot or humid.
Of all the places to live, it would seem that this area is the place to be: no quakes, hurricanes, floods, draughts (drouts) ? , etc.
I plowed the old guy's driveway last night and he said he would drop off the receiver this week. We shall see. More later.
