I don't understand Dish. I live in downtown Houston, but yet my RSN according to Dish is Fox Sports Southwest, which is home to the Mavericks and Spurs (NBA), Rangers (MLB), Stars (NHL), and FC Dallas (MLS). Fox Sports Houston (home of the Rockets, Astros, and Dynamo) already broke away into a 24/7 separate RSN from FS Southwest.

I wouldn't mind having the channel to watch Mavericks and Spurs games every now ad then, but they're all blacked out. But Rangers and Stars games are not. What's up with that?

On ESPN's Wednesday night baseball, the Yankees-Rangers game was blacked out for me. I was forced to watch the game on FS Southwest in SD. Plus, the announcers for Rangers game suck.

Anyone know when they will finally turn on FS Houston full time for people who actually live in its territory?

Directv provides a 24-hour FSN Houston feed along with the FSN Southwest feed. I wish Dish had the same setup but I don't think they have enough bandwidth to have all of the RSNs 24/7. Since FSN Houston is such a small market I doubt it is high on Dish's priority list.

I don't see FSN-Houston as a 24x7 channel, just a game only channel. And if I plug a Houston zip (used 77002) into Local Regional Sports Network Information it comes back saying FSN-Southwest is the RSN that the zip receives.

Yep, you're right. What I meant to say is that Directv has a dedicated channel for just the FSN Houston games (ch. 678). Dish takes the exclusive FSN Houston games and puts them on a random alternate channel (Which IMO is very annoying).

Astros have always been on FS Southwest Alternate when not on FS Southwest Main. A couple of years ago they decided to call this alternate FS Houston. It is still an alternate reqardless of the name. In fact now you will see FS Astros as the on-air Logo when the games are on.

Dish and sports, come on!
