Fox HD News has been removed from the Turbo Packages!

Based on what is being said in another thread, they aren't going in the HD-only packages. So they are jacking up rates $10 on the HD-only packages and NOT giving new HD channels -- that are currently available -- to those customers! WOW, it is almost as if DISH is trying to piss off customers!!!

I posted this elsewhere but will post it here as well.

This is an email I received from Dish Network shortly before 5PM ET.

Scott,

Thanks for the email. Fox News HD is available in all HD packages, including Turbo HD Bronze and higher. Fox Business News HD is available in the Gold Turbo HD package.

I wonder if the fox news hd issue with turbo packages is negotiation contract issues.
Just too many excuses and I know most of the time u have to carry fx and speed and other channels if you want to offer fox news to someone. So I wonder if fox balked at it being available to hd only if that customer didn't get other certain fox owned stations in sd .
I just called dish and was told this is a test preview until march 4 when they will decide if they will carry it. Very strange answer.
But then I am in absolute hd and not turbo. Just called to ask if I should get it.

I didn't trust it. Read my post. I made an assumption based on all the various excuses everyone had posted and said "I wonder if" to separate it from fact.

You know ... with all of the package name changes going on ... it makes me wonder if even the execs have TurboHD Bronze and BronzeHD confused ...

I'm thoroughly confused. I've read all the posts here stating the channels are supposed to be on the announced TurboHD tiers and the posts from subs with those packages saying they don't have the channels.

I'm ready to switch to TurboHD gold. What's the real story??

Maybe they're having trouble trying to give it to the Turbo folks without giving it to the HD Absolute folks. :D

I have Turbo Gold and I can absolutely state that we do not have these channels. I have Fox News in SD for some idiotic reason, but no HD. As for Fox Business, I have nothing.

I am just so angry right now, I don't know what to do...

Here is an email I just sent to "CEO". The subject was "TurboHD or ZeroHD?"

Dear Dish Network,

I am a DDA TurboHD Gold subscriber.

You recently added two Fox news channels in HD, Fox News HD and Fox Business News HD.

I am quite disappointed with the fact that these channels were not included in the TurboHD lineup of programming packages.

I recently switched to DDA TurboHD Gold because I have a HD television, only watch HD channels, and was looking forward to more HD channels as they are released.

The fact that you did not add these HD channels to the corresponding TurboHD lineup leaves me to wonder when a new HD channel is released if I will get the channel or not?

As it stands now, the TurboHD packages are really ZeroHD because you have demonstrated that these packages can not be counted on for receiving new HD.

Yes I could switch to programming where these channels are added; however, in these economic times, those other packages when combined with the HD add ons, would simply be too expensive.

TurboHD or ZeroHD? I hope Dish Network chooses these packages to be TurboHD!

Thank you,

"I have Fox News in SD for some idiotic reason, but no HD."

It's on Free Preview so we are all getting it but will go away by next week.

It is up for a month for free preview. No doubt Dish trying to cover their ass for the mistake.

I would buy the idea that Dish is confused about package names, but looking again at the quote Scott posted earlier from Dish themselves you can see why I'm not so sure:

After reading this I went and checked. I also have Gold. I have both Fox News and Fox Business in HD woo-woo!!!!

If Dish was not confused, people with these packages would already have these channels;)

Are Denver channels now spotbeamed?

Cinemax for a penny
