Hi, all:

I have a Fortec Lifetime Ultra receiver. This receiver has several scan functions: satellie scan, TP scan, network scan, advanced scan and power scan. I normally only use power scan which will find all live TPs on the satellie and find channels on each TP.

Can anyone give a list of advantages and disadvantages of each scan method? For example: I don't know the difference between satellite scan and power scan?

Thanks for any reply

Michael

satellite scan-all TP's stored in the unit's memory on that satellite
TP scan-scans one TP on a satellite. Works good for verifying if a TP has added something :)
Advanced-allows you to manually put in PID's (see DrHydro's Pentagon Channel thread for more info)
Power scan (blind scan, smart can)-you know how that works :)

satellite scan works good during sports season, as some teams use the same frequency/symbol rate, but PID's change. So instead of blind searching a whole satellite for the game, I do a satellite scan :)
