 My fortec ultra suddenly will not move my motorized dish and I can't get into the antenna screen to see if the motor is disabled. It just sits on the antenna screen and is unresponsive to commands and causes the receiver to turn off and then it turns back on. I can change channels on the sat that I'm sitting on (which is G10R right now)on and I can use the remote to go up and down on the channels and I can view all the channels that are on this sat. It has the original software that came with it upon purchase in 2005 and I haven't updated anything. I have unhooked everything and let it set idle overnight and then hooked it up again. I have checked the motor and it is fine and working. I am at a loss to what is going on? Anybody have a suggestion as to what is going on? Does it sound like there's nothing I can do short of sending it in for repair?

transponder overload. Sadly the Ultra when you did too many blind scans will act weird due to too many transponders in the receiver.

What I've done is this. If you use it for KU Band only, go through all the C-Band satellites and remove all the transponders logged into those satellites. Then go through the KU ones that you have done lots of blind scans on (mainly feeds satellites) and remove the TP's from those. You wont lose any channels by doing this.

That usually fixes the issues with the receiver. You might want to use ChannelMaster (see the FAQ area for the link). Its easier to edit the transponders using ChannelMaster. You upload the info from the reciever to the computer, edit it and reload back into the box.

Fortec Ultra Help

I can't delete the transponders because when I get to the antenna setup screen I can't scroll down to the edit transponders. No commands that I give to the remote on this screen works at all. It like it is totally unresponsive. On the first screen where you set the time and osd and aspect it will repond to the remote but on the installation screen which shows the antenna, power scan, and edit transponder the receiver doesn't respond to these commands when you press your remote?

Fortec Ultra Help

Thanks Iceberg,,,,,,,crazy as this sounds, I got it to go back to the factory setting by using the left arrow key.....to get to the screen....Left instead of right...weird?
Anyway, I'll try to scan in everything again. Thanks for responding to my need....
