Ok, so I recently moved into an apartment complex that only allow you to use dish network so I do not have my own antenna on my actual residence. It looks like they have a couple of q-box hooked up and am using the vip622 dvr.

I am getting great reception with all channels except my HD locals. They will work for about 10 minutes with a signal strength around 75 and then I get the "yellow loss signal" screen. I have called the people in charge of providing our service and they are just horrible. They say they are going to show at a certain time and then never even show up. So I was hoping to find a solution on my own.

Im sorry if this has been asked before, but I have always had cable and never been a satellite subscriber. Is there any hardward/antenna that I can buy to help with the reception and improve the signal strength? Is there any settings on the menu option that I need the change? Say changing the analog from cable to offair or any of the other options?

Thanks so much,

Steve

With my 722, i have an outdoor antenna hooked up and the setting should be set to "offair" . I am not sure what antenna setup you have, but it should be set to offair instead of analog.

Thanks for the reply.

I have no outside antenna setup as of now. The entire apartment complex has 3 large antennas on one roof and then we receive the signal straight from the wall.

The HD analog is set to "cable" right now but I will switch to "offair" and see how that works.

Thanks again.
