Got sick of looking in the stores. Didn't want to get up a 5am on a Sunday and stand in line. Decided to go the Ebay route. I have a remote question. Since I have 2 kids what's the next purchase I need to make, besides games? Another Wii remote and nonchuck?

Yeah, I would go the WiiPlay route. You get a game plus a controller for $49.99. So basically the game is only $20.00. I don't know about the nunchuck, not all games utilize it.

We have a Wii and the first thing I got for it was WiiPlay and another Nunchuk. If both of your kids want to do boxing on Wii Sports, a second Nunchuk is worth it.

If you ever plan on getting any of the Virtual Console games, and don't have a GameCube controller, pick up the Classic Controller for $20. Definately well worth it.

Thanks! Didn't even know about WiiPlay until now. Sounds like a good deal.

I personally got tired of buying my son games all the time, at $50-$60 each, times the number of systems he has (Wii, PS3, PSP, DS, XBOX360) so I signed up at gameznflix. So far, it seems decent. I was upset in the beginning because it took about a week to ship my first order, but for $250 a year, I get 6 out at a time. Not too bad. My son tires of them after a couple of weeks anyway usually, and even if he doesn't, 6 at a time, he still has options :)

I have a BlockBuster nearby. If they have a good selection of Wii games, I'll sign up for the monthly game pass. I bit more than gameznflix, but we don't have to wait. I agree. I almost never buy them 360 games without renting them first.
Looks like your son is spoiled more than my two :D We *only have 2 360s, 1 Xbox, and in a couple of days a Wii.

Had it for about 7 mos then dropped it. None of the games in my que would ever get shipped unless they were old games. Such as 2 years old. Went 2 mos waiting and nothing ever came including movies. I fianlly sent back the last 3 qand cancled.:(

We resigned with BB just because they have current games on the most part. Plus it is only 5 minutes to return and get something new. Plus were loaded up with machines-PS2,360,Xbox, GC, Wii, PSP and DS's, usually we can find something.

Remote/nunchuk is high on the list... as others noted, WiiPlay gets you the remote, will need to pickup another nunchuck. After that, accessories depend on the games they like.

The remotes work great, but having accessories can make them a lot more life-like. Simple plastic accessories that you put the remote into: plastic golf club handle, steering wheel (who wants to steer by rotating the remote?), baseball bat... all good, all cheap. There's also an accessory with rechargeable batteries & charging base for the remote if you're interested. Colored rubber skins (remote condoms?) are cool, kids can 'own' a remote - which helps when they create their Mii (persona) and store it in a remote.

Games? Tiger Woods 2008. The kids might like it, but if you golf it's a blast. If you have a lousy follow-through, it will be exposed. My son loves the Zelda game, he gets to ride a horse and sword-fight. Unless they're really good gamers who like football, Madden is tough. A baseball game is good b/c pitching & batting are motions kids know.

If you haven't already played it yourself, get moving! Wii Sports Bowling, Boxing, and Golf are good for the adults... esp. after a couple of beers or wine. If you've got a big screen, move the coffee table and get to it.

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions. I signed up again for gameznflix, since they have a distribution center near Boston. I'll give it a shot for 1 month. Wii should arrive today or tomorrow. Kids are keeping an eye out for the mail truck. I plan on stopping by my local BB to pick up WiiPlay and a 2nd nonchuck. For now, it'll get hooked up to my Sony 36" Trinitron in the downstairs playroom. I plan on getting the Wii S-video A/V cables as well.
Since my 2nd 360 is hooked up to this TV as well, I eventually want to replace it with an HD set. Does the Wii benefit using component cables connected to an HD set?

On our 57" DLP, I can tell a difference in Wii Sports and Zelda. The image looks sharper than on composite.

I LOVE our DLP!!

The only issue I see with it, and this is common for DLP, is the blacks aren't as dark as they should be. Oh well, I can look over that.

I've noticed that to, on DLPs. Same with LCDs. I'm used to my pro calibrated 57" CRT! Anyway, $825 for a 42" DLP seems like a great deal. I may have to order one.

Wii was delivered yesterday. Kids love it! Wouldn't replace my 360, but it's fun for the entire family.
