Folks,
I had a model 6000 reciever and got all the pre-Feb 01 HD channels for $9.99. Early Feb, I called Dish Network and they told me that I would get locals in HD (Chicago Market) but that I would need to upgrade my reciever to ViP211 (Mpeg 4). Long story short, I fell for it and the consquences are as following:
1. No Local HD in Chicago Market and I am stuck with 18 month commitment. Repeated calls in Dish have not resulted in getting even an estimate on when the locals would be available in HD.
2. Instead of ViP211, the installer provided 411 (earlier he brought 811 and after I refused the installation, he got 411). 411 reviever works fine till it hangs. It has been hanging every day. I have called Dish Network but so far no resolution. I have to pull the power cord out every day and re-power it to make 411 work. :-(
3. I am paying about $20 more per month than what I was paying before without any additional USEFUL HD channels and living with the irritation of a bad reciever.
4. Dish CSRs would not give me any escalation path into their organization. I wish I could write to Charlie's office.
Does anyone have an email/phone escalation path into Dish's senior management? I felt ripped off and very frustrated. Anyone having the same issues?
