FCC Seeks Comment On Time Warner, Et Al's Retransmission-Consent* Petition

Funny how the system was fine for the fourteen years that the distributors had more leverage over content providers, but as soon as content started becoming more valuable, suddenly the system is "broken" as far as distributors are concerned. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
 
Update on the Retransmission Fee situation:
It's unlikely the Federal Communications Commission will step in to regulate disputes over retransmission consent issues between cable operators and broadcasters, the Los Angeles Times' Company Town blog reports.

Speaking at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association's convention on Wednesday, top advisors said their superiors aren't inclined to step in, the article said.
