Interesting and yet not surprising that he would CALL ANOTHER TEAM to tell them how to beat his former employer, the Green Bay Packers...

Sunday Scoops: Is Favre guilty of insider trading?

Jay Glazer is a Senior NFL Writer for FOXSports.com on MSN and also appears every week on FOX NFL Sunday as the network's NFL Insider.

It turns out the Cowboys aren't the only team this year the New York Jets signal caller has spent time talking to.

Several sources have told FOX Sports that Favre earlier this year phoned the Detroit Lions prior to their battle versus Favre's old team, the Green Bay Packers, and gave them a rundown of the nuances of what Green Bay does on offense. According to the sources, Favre actually spent over an hour on the phone with Lions coaches, who were connected with Favre by then-team president Matt Millen.

While the Lions still lost and the Packers and Favre's replacement Aaron Rodgers played well, it's still baffling that the Packers legend would spend such a significant chunk of time giving tips to an opponent of his long-time franchise.

Other teams the Packers have played had also heard about the Favre coaching clinic with Detroit. In addition, there have been rumors that Favre has spoken to other teams giving them information, but most of those teams insist they have not heard from the famed gunslinger.

However, another team says it has had casual talks in the past with Favre and talked about some of what Green Bay does, but it was nowhere near the details he let loose to the Lions.

Still, Favre has the right to do whatever he pleases. If he wants to help other teams there is nothing in league rules that prevents him from doing so.

Ok, My thoughts as a die hard Pack fan. A couple things...

I don't believe he spent over an hour on the phone with anybody, He's so antsy and impatient as a person I can't beleive he spent that much time on the phone.

Detroit has not denied the report.

Favre text messaged Peter King over at SI "Total BS". Right, just like in a text message to the same guy denying he was "unretiring"

"IF" this did happen I think you could link it to Matt Millen. Favre and Millen are good friends and have been for quite a while.

Favre still has a "thing" for ted Thompson, so it would not surprise me that he might do something like this.

Living in packerland we got to see the many facets of Farve which the national media has not always put forward.

Over the years we've seen him act like like a spoiled child (no Mariucci, No Moss "it's not my job to tutor Aaron Rodgers, that's what the coaches are for") ), as well as a great local citizen and human being (charity work, volunteering, Fund Raising, a decent steakhouse, etc) and more recently, a petulant diva.

One last thing,

Hey Detroit, How'd that work out?

Hey Detroit, How'd that work out?

This.

And while classless, it's not against any rules, and probably happens to a lesser degree quite often.

Look at all the bitter players that get exchanged between the AFC West teams, you know they help contribute to game planning, even if it's just a tip or suggestion here and there.

Lot of good that did! Packers ran up 447 yds. of offense. No wonder MILLEN is gone! We can't win even when we are "in the know"! Or maybe it was disinformation? Either way Millen was an idiot.

Nolan fired

What makes a team so hated by fans and others?
