Fantasy Baseball?

I set up a Rotisserie style league (4 x 4 standard for you vets) on Yahoo (free, no cost but your time).

A bunch of my friends who usually participate with me all bailed due to various issues. Extra Innings or not, I need SOMETHING to get me interested in watching Sportscenter on ESPN again.....

We will have a live draft at 11:30 AM on Sunday 4/1. PM me if you're interested and I'll give you the league ID and password.....

No money will change hands, although I will buy the winner a top shelf drink if they ever come to the Jersey Shore or New York City.....

I have a few slots left, first come, first served....

All spots filled now...... 7 SatGuys including myself, a friend of mine, and 2 from the Yahoo pool..... I reduced the size to 10 teams since demand was less than I thought.

A few notes, 10 teams now so more talent available on draft day (and on the waiver wire in the future), and I made a mistake, the yahoo default is 5 x 5 so I'll leave it that way.

That's the last unilateral decisions I'll make. From this point forward, democracy rules. Any adjustments will based on a majority vote.

I think something is broken... I went to the LIVE draft and for some weird reason every player I select cannot be drafted although no one has selected it.

If you are referring to Vipers football league I was in it and saw the controversy....

Hence my decision to NOT make any more unilateral decisions.

Things should run pretty well now, assuming everyone participates....

...and now I will not F%^& with any scoring categories....

If someone feels strongly about modifying something, post it on the League page under "post message" and we will vote on it....

Sorry you had some difficulties Sean, did you ever figure out what was causing it?

It was more a problem of how the draft worked. I was not familiar with the process (never participated in one).

I kind of assumed that but didn't want to say anything, my bad. Anyway I hope you figured it out before it cost you anyone you wanted. It was "different" than what I am use to on CBS Sportsline. Haven't done this style in forever, use to head to head. Good Luck! Looking forward to it. Can't tell by the names who everyone is, only know them by their SatGuys name.

Sorry you had trouble. Is everything else easy enough to understand from this point forward? You just need to watch your players to make sure they don't get injured and that you have your pitchers activated on the days they are scheduled to start (you can tell by the little symbol ^ next to the game location indicator). If yo are going away for the weekend or don't have time to do it, you can click on the date at the top of the entry area and change the effective date to activate/deactivate players for the coming weekend or any other days you will be unable to make changes.

Note that any players you add will not be available until the following day if made prior to midnight (it may be a little later, but that is the rule of thumb I use). This goes for drops as well...... ie. If you have a player set to come off the DL tomorrow, and the player is one of your DL slots, and you've since filled his slot with another player, you need to drop a player to make room, and activate the player the day PRIOR to when he comes off.

Basically, moving a player from active to the bench can be done any time prior to about 15 minutes before 1st pitch. Any moves that add or delete players from your roster must be done a day in advance. Note that you can't put a player on the DL UNTIL Yahoo acknowledges they are there (The red DL letters below their name). Red NA means not active and the player has been cut from the team or sent to the minors.

Yep, I got in. Thank goodness I pre-ranked most of my players, I was not home to see the announced draft time change and missed it, (remember I am way out on the left coast) but I think my rankings did ok. I am not as up to date on MLB as I am the NFL and NBA, so I look to having my ass handed to me in this league.

Nope.... Thanks to Kazmir and Contreras (12 runs in a combined 6 innings between the two of them), I've got the worst pitching stats by far. Hitters didn't do any better.

A.J. Burnett just killed me yesterday... Best average in the league (NY Colossals) but only 4th in ERA.... I like my team... although I am looking to trade Burnett if anyone is interested.
