The past few days I have noticed that on my HDTV when watching a HD channel, there has been a faded black line running up and down. My guess is that the TV is going bad, anyone out there know if it could be the HD programing from E??? Thanks for the help!!

Where is this black line of yours? I'm going to guess that it runs vertical and is at the edge of where your SD programming would end, but not far enough out to be at the edge of the HD screen size.

If that indeed is the case, you may have a case of screen burn-in.

Sometimes...if you're lucky...it will disappear on its own IF you keep both your SD and HD on full screen. Not sure if it was luck...or the HD godz looking in my favor...but had the same thing happen to me last year when I bought my HD tv. Boy was I pissed! Like I said tho', I kicked everything to fullscreen (stretchomatic view kinda sucks in SD).

It could be, if this is a Samsung DLP, that the tape holding the mirrors in place has let go and you are seeing the result of a moved mirror. Common in the Light engine non-LED dlp's. Expensive fix if you do not have warranty and do not fix it yourself.

No its a Toshiba 32' LCD Funny thing is when the program guide is up its not there!! Only time I see it is on a HD program, fades in an out...So I don't think its the TV. Could it be the receiver, Dish needs re adj??? Who knows maybe I'll give dish tech a call...

ROFL!! Too funny....the problem I described is on a 37" Toshiba. Like I stated earlier, it eventually disappeared once I kept both SD and HD in full screen (that will require you to play with the PIC SIZE adjustments on the Toshiba remote)
