I had been an ExpressVu subscriber for years down here in Houston. Then about 2 years ago, I switched to AT&T, but have sorely missed my Hockey Night in Canada, so I decided to set up my dish again.
Now from Houston my azimuth should be 171.15 and elevation 54.94. So I have my dish set up, got a new LNB, my ExpressVu receiver and when I go to find the satellite... nothing. Zero signal. Nada. Zip.
I've panned slowly around the sky. Nothing. The LNB is brand new, so it should work. I've checked the cables, they're ok. I stuck on my old LNB thinking that maybe there was a problem with the new one. Still nothing.
Now here's the odd thing: The system date has updated!! Yes, on my ExpressVu set-up screen it shows todays date (5/11/2012). How could it know the current date unless it picked up a signal (remember, the receiver has been sitting in a box in my attic for the past 2 years).
Anyways, what should I do?? How can I trouble-shoot this?
