I have attached a spectrum analyzer to the I/F cable of my (new) Exede service and found bursty transmit signals at about 1800 MHz, but no constant carriers (rx signals) between 1000-1500, or between 1800-2300 MHz. But there are a set of constant carriers between 250 and 500 MHz. This doesn't make sense based on the Internet literature I've read. Does anyone have an explanation. I believe I have a VS1100 on the roof. The service is up and working fine during this experiment, so I'm quite sure my tap is not disrupting normal operation.
