Reports are coming in (http://wccftech.com/nvidia-gtx-1080-1070-evga-cards-dying/) that EVGA has bypassed some Thermal Management on their GTX 1070 and 1080 SC, ACX, and FTW cards by not using silicone thermal pads to tie the Voltage Regulators to the heatsink or backing plate.

EVGA has created a page where registered owners of the afflicted products can request the thermal pads to help lower the VRM temperatures: http://www.evga.com/thermalmod/
