ESPN upsets some by hiring Brits to call World Cup

So will I. I like the spanish anouncers because they are MUCH MORE excited about the sport than their english(and I mean the language) counter parts.

PLUS....the commercials with tons of little clothed women on the spanish channels is 900 times better than boring commercials ESPN puts on.:D:up
So TRUE!:hungry:

Soccer fans are way too sensitive. We are just joking around.

BUT Dodger, that's just it....it's the same joke every.....single....time...a thread is opened.

....you don't like it......you won't watch it......you think it's boring.

WE GET IT!! LOL!

I actually think that those that hate the sport think the thread is intended for them. LOL!;)

My brothers still watch reruns of Fuera de Serie, which is totally in Spanish, to ogle a younger version of Sofia Vergara, who finds a way to stuff her big boobs into a tiny bikini in just about every show.

Yeah, it was funny the first 500 times, but now it's getting old...;)

I want to hear the best football commentators which would be from anywhere but the USA. In the past, I had a hard time listening to MLS or US National team games because the commentary is horrid with guys who are not familiar with the game. In my book, Martin Tyler is up there with John Madden, one of the best commentators ever when you pick the best from each sport. Well done ESPN!

P.S. - I'm born\raised in Texas and the word "soccer" is not in my vocabulary. We've got football and American football. I watch\support both. :)
P.S.S. - GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!:D

I can respect soccer fans who just want to enjoy the World Cup. What's stupid though are all the theories about what it will take the rest of America to care about soccer. Just accept the fact that 99% of us don't care and never will and you can enjoy the kickball tournament. :D

The OTHER MYTH!;)

That theory was brought up when the World Cup was here in 1992. It has never been repeated again BY A SOCCER FAN. ONLY by haters of the game...because some OTHER hater brought it up and then the next hater said, "yeah, your right!" LOL!

What? So it was non soccer fans that were spewing all the Bullsh!t about how once we hosted a World Cup soccer would huge here, or how the MLS would be more popular than the NFL or how David Beckham would be a bigger star than Lebron James? Did I read that right?

As a soccer fan I personally do not care if the rest of America takes to soccer or not. My favorite sport is hockey, which is largely ignored in the USA outside of some pockets of very intense fans.

The funnier thing is if you say soccer is the most popular sport in the world, that the popularity of Manchester United and FC Barceloa dwarfs the popularity of the New York Yankees or Dallas Cowboys, that the Super Bowl is but a blip on the radar screen of the World Cup, many Americans have to start belittliing the sport. ;)

Don't mention Sofia Vergara and cosmetic surgery in the same sentence, my brothers have killed for less. They insist her DD's are all natural, and will debate, (or perhaps beat senseless), anyone who says otherwise.

Instead of spewing conjecture and hate, why don't you prove what you're saying? WHO said those things, WHERE did you read them? You are full of Bullsh!t, and those so called FACTS you are stating are Bullsh!t as well!

Just TRY and prove one those things you just spewed.....

Why do you care if America is into soccer or not?

And as Sandra so coherently stated, if you have no reason to venture into a thread except to be a third-grader and say "nane nane boo boo", then stay out.

I'm just reciting everything soccer lovers have said for the last 2 decades. I don't care if people like soccer or not. It's like women's basketball. Not for everybody but fine for a few. What I don't like is the constant propaganda effort put out by soccer fans about how their sport is going to be the next big thing. Get over it, and just enjoy what you have.
