ESPN HD Quality

I just had my reciever which was a Hughes HTL-HD fail, but would like to ask this question about the last ESPN HD broadcast on Wednesday night.

I noticed when they showed shots into the dugout, the picture was pretty horrible and the red on the catchers chest on a closeup was full of what looked like a poorly tuned picture. Did anyone else notice anything like this?


The colors were sort of dull looking for something that is supposed to be HD.

They may have used some 16:9 SD cameras for that shot.

I am less than impressed with ESPN HD broadcasts I think they have a long way to go.

I sure do agree with you. They look silly switching from hd to standard during a hd broadcast.

You would think with all the money they spent building a whole new center that they could give us a top notch broadcast maybe they are still tweeking I sure hopw so because I am really not impressed at all.

I have never been impressed unless there is football or Hockey on ... they're kind of goofy. More HD to come ... by 2007 I am sure everything will be HD period.
