Hey guys, so today I just got my upgrade installed... I got a new Genie with wireless genie minis and I kept one of my HR24 receivers (because I thought it would keep that DVR separate, turns out it's still all the same so had I known I would have just got rid of it for another wireless mini, but that's not important I guess) Tech set it all up in a couple of hours and it seemed to work fine.. .

Got home late tonight and saw that I've got the error 775 "problem communicating with dish." Followed the on screen steps, found the swim power connector thing, which was hooked up to my HR24 receiver, reset that, and still nothing. Reset all my receivers, and they are all 4 dead and on this error 775 screen.

Since the guy just installed all of this today, I doubt it's faulty equipment.. Assuming he did something wrong (even though it worked for a few hours) Im sure it'll be days before Directv can send someone out, and I am not really excited about waiting for that. Anything I can do in the morning to troubleshoot myself? Wires to check, whatever it might be? REALLY hoping to get TV back on by Sunday evening. Thanks for reading!

If you only have a Genie (plus clients) and an HR24 (no other receivers, correct?), that's 7 tuners and your SWM system will support 8, so if you only have 7 tuners that's not the problem. So a 775 will almost certainly be a power inserter issue.
First, make sure your PI is plugged into a wall socket, NOT into a power strip. Second, make sure the PI is connected to a cable that goes into the red power passing port of your splitter. If you have changed the connections, it won't work. And then look at all the connections, make sure none of them are loose or badly made.

Thanks for your reply. I haven't changed anything since he left when everything was working. I made sure to plug the PI into the wall and the green light is on. I'll go check the connections just in case. Any way to test the PI?
