Thanks you Scott, I hope its reasonably pricedThere is a Joey 4 on the way. Does 4K, HDR and supports Android Apps from the Google Play Store. Look for it in late July.
I hope it doesn't require the H+!Thanks you Scott, I hope its reasonably priced
I think it has been discussed before and it would require a Hopper+...I hope it doesn't require the H+!
However, a 4K Wally (which was the original question) definitely would not require a Hopper+.I think it has been discussed before and it would require a Hopper+...
That would be huge! Did I miss an announcement that said that a 4K Wally is actually coming soon? I have been asking for that for years. The only way I could see a new Wally requiring a Hopper+ would be if it is also capable of integrating with a Hopper, which would also be a very huge deal!I was wondering if the time had come to get an 4k wally or are there still better times coming down the pipe line.
Scott said to wait awhile back and has there been anything improved since the summit, or is there any time line
But there is no 4K Wally in the pipeline while there is a Joey 4 coming and it does 4K, HDR, and does Android apps. The Hopper+ and Joey 4 are both tied to the Android apps and that is their selling point. However, a 4K Wally (which was the original question) definitely would not require a Hopper+.

Too bad. I like the flexibility of being able to use the Wally independently without needing a Hopper, unlike any model of Joey. For the same monthly equipment fee (Wally vs. Joey) I always thought the Wally is a better value. But there is no 4K Wally in the pipeline while there is a Joey 4 coming and it does 4K, HDR, and does Android apps. I didn't understand that to be the final word.I think it has been discussed before and it would require a Hopper+...
Yeah, the 1st two. I'd be happy to have a J4 with the 1st two and lacking the 3rd.it does 4K, HDR, and does Android apps.
Does it cost anything. I paid a one time fee for a 4K Joey that has no 4K programming or anythingThere is a Joey 4 on the way. Does 4K, HDR and supports Android Apps from the Google Play Store. Look for it in late July.
That was not determined when I met with DISH last month. If they charge something I wouldn't expect it to be expensive.Does it cost anything. I paid a one time fee for a 4K Joey that has no 4K programming or anything
The problem is that most (or all) of the 4K HDR content available on Joeys is delivered through those Android apps. So, you need all three, or you end up with none.I didn't understand that to be the final word.

That's okay, it gave us something to talk about. Nobody else was taking the bait about the 4K Wally, so I thought I'd chime in, since that is something I actually have been wanting for a long time. If enough people agree, and keep this discussion going, then maybe Dish will see it and realize that there actually is demand for such a receiver.sorry about that, I meant 4k Joey in my original question, don't know why I said Wally. Gotta get more sleep apparently.

I wish I could Love this post twice! I would like to see all of the above on a Wally also, not just on the 4K Joey.will the people who bought the 4k Joey and were promised PIP and 4K get it free. We did not even get YouTube on it!
Don't waste your money on a 4K Joey. You cannot get any 4K channels (540 channels) on it, no matter what Dish says. It seems that all 4K channels are 4K HDR these days and the 4K Joey simply does not work with 4K HDR even if your tv is 4K HD. I've jumped through all of those hoops already.sorry about that, I meant 4k Joey in my original question, don't know why I said Wally. Gotta get more sleep apparently.
Is there still a promise for PIP? That was promised for 4K Joey and NEVER delivered! There is a Joey 4 on the way. Does 4K, HDR and supports Android Apps from the Google Play Store. Look for it in late July.
