Ok, I just added the Encore package... and I didn't know it didn't include the Encore channel, 340, is this correct? or I am missing something?
Encore package didn't have Encore

Also in the description of the package it says:
Plus, get instant access to over 300 of your favorites with ENCORE On Demand and ENCORE online.
And I get to On Demand and there only 2 free movies... is that the access to 300 of my favorites with Encore On Demand?
I need to pay for all of the movies, and those movies were there before I add the package, so there nothing really new...

Encore East HD is included but Encore East sd is in the Starz package. I don't think Encore East HD is included in the stand alone Encore package though. I have AT250, so I couldn't tell you as I get the HD version in AT250

Those channels are Encore channels, the same package available with some other providers. It isn't meant to be competitive with HBO or the actual Starz package. It's an inexpensive way to get several themed movie channels. To get a channel like Encore HD it costs more than a $5 package. I do understand without checking into what you are getting you might think you are getting channels called Encore. ("6 theme channels including; ENCORE Westerns, ENCORE Family, ENCORE Love, ENCORE Action, ENCORE Suspense & ENCORE Drama.")

Encore East SD/HD (340) and Encore Family (347) are not included in the Encore Movie Pack. Channels 341-346 and 377 are included.

341 Encore West
342 Encore Westerns
343 Encore Action
344 Encore Suspense
345 Encore Drama
346 Encore Love
377 MoviePlex

340 Encore HD is included in America's Top 250, America's "Everything" Pak, and Starz.

340 Encore SD is only included in Starz.

347 Encore Family is included in America's Top 250 and America's "Everything" Pak.

340 Encore HD, 341-347 Encore themed channels, and 377 MoviePlex are in America's Top 250.

344 Encore Suspense and 377 MoviePlex are included in Blockbuster @ Home along with 353 Starz Cinema, 378 IndiePlex HD, and 379 RetroPlex HD as well as other movie and variety channels ( along with one-disc at a time from Blockbuster).

Hope that helps.

Encore west is in at250 as is the encore east but in hdonly to get sd you need starz

Yep that's weird too. It's like, are they holding back the SD version for those that only have the HD, as if those with the HD version would even care? Or is it their way of getting more money out of those that don't have HD equipment?

Are you sure this is correct? According to DISH's website, Encore Family IS included with the EMP, but NOT Movieplex nor either Encore (E/W) channel:

DISH Specialty Channels & DISH Specialty Packages | My DISH Support

The ENCORE Movie Package is playing your favorite movies from the 80s, 90s and today. Get over 800 movies each month across 6 theme channels including; ENCORE Westerns, ENCORE Family, ENCORE Love, ENCORE Action, ENCORE Suspense & ENCORE Drama. Plus, get instant access to over 300 of your favorites with ENCORE On Demand and ENCORE online. $5/month

WAM used to be included I think. Suspense is a new one.

- WAM, which was re-named E-Family, did NOT used to be in the EMP; evidently, that changed awhile back
- Suspense was the re-name for E-Mystery & has ALWAYS been in the EMP

Yes, I am sure as we have the Encore Movie Pack. We do not have 340 or/and 347, but we do get 377. We do get 341 Encore West, too. Unfortunately, you cannot always go by what is on the site as it does have errors from time to time. I would not mind getting an extra channel like Encore Family and Encore East even if it is in SD. The only thing I could see is if we had some weird grandfathering; however, I doubt that is the case.

Yes, Mojo is correct (unlike Dish site ) Encore Family is not in the package. But moviePlex is.

And Mojo how is OnDemand for you? That was my biggest concern too... it says that you'll have acces to 300 more movies on demand... and there's nothing. Only free movie is Alvin and the Chipmunks , all of them I need to pay for, and they were before I added the package.
Is this false advertising or what?

Maybe those movies are available from Dish Online? Have you checked that out? That is weird though. I have BB@Home that includes Encore Suspense and Starz Cinema and I get all of the Starz/Encore free On Demand movies through my 722K.

I do not use on demand since we do not have a DVR; I do not think the Internet available in our area would be fast enough for streaming.

Last time I checked Dish Online ( which can also be odd at times), we have access to Encore and MoviePlex.

I do agree that the false advertising is one of Dish's problems such as saying Encore Family is included when it is not. I am not sure why Encore Family and Encore East are not included with the a la carte pack (other than contract terms maybe). I mean it is nice to have a $5 Encore pack, but at the same time, if a sub wants Starz and Encore without AT250 or AEP, it would cost $18/month without getting Encore Family while other providers charge $13 for both or charge less for Starz without the Encore channels. I wish all the Encore channels would be in the $5 pack including the HD feed as other a la carte packs have HD channels. However, I can live without the East feed with the west feed, but it would be nice to see the movies in HD. I would not mind seeing the other plex channels as well, but that may be asking for too much. I also wish they would add the HD feeds of the Encore themed channels available in HD. I am surprised that Dish has not added Encore Espanol, yet. I do not remember much news on Dish and Starz since before the Disney fiasco about Disney movies on Starz when Dish give it as an anniversary gift for a year. Before that, everything seemed wonderful. I am not saying things are sour between the two, but there has not been many updates or additions in a while.
