OK, so I finally called to upgrade one of my 942s to a 622. They were offering the upgrade for $299 with a $100 credit for a returned 942. I asked about the $10 off for 10 months (to make it a "free" upgrade as announced on the Charlie Chat). The representative said that not everyone qualifies for the $10 off and that there was no way for anyone at Dish to tell me if I would qualify until I made the change and sent in the form. I think that is a bunch of crap. Does anyone know what the rules are to qualify? And also, has anyone actually received this yet?

You just need to upgrade to one of the HD metal packs. You can't upgrade from a bronze to silver. You need to not have had a metal pack before. So if you are upgrading from the old HD pack to a metal pack you are good.

But the problem is, Dish won't verify that those are the terms. They just say that they cannot tell you if you are elligible until you send in the form (after the upgrade). That seems pretty back-asswards to me

The csr I spoke to confirmed this. Call back and get another csr and ask them. The offer form on dish's website is clear. All you need to do is upgrade to a metal pack. Then when you get your first bill send them a copy and they will credit your account $10 for the next 10 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Am I eligible for the DISH Network $100 Back and HD Bonus offer?

Only new residential customers that place their orders between 4/10/06 and 6/30/06 and activate their system during that period are eligible for the $100 Back offer. The HD Bonus offer is available to both new and current customers who activated their account with or upgraded to DishHD programming on or after 6/9/06.

You are eligible for the $100 back offer if your first DISH Network billing statement shows 2 months of qualifying programming (America’s Top 120, America’s Top 180, America’s “Everything” Pak, Latino “Everything” Pak, DishLATINO MAX). Only customers who joined Dish Network under the Digital Home Advantage or Alaska/Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands customers offers are eligible.

You are eligible for the HD Bonus if you have selected DishHD Bronze, DishHD Silver, DishHD Gold, or DishHD Platinum after 6/9/06 as either a new or current Dish Network customer and have a billing statement showing your DishHD programming purchase.

2. What is the deadline for sending in your Mail-In Redemption Form?

Your completed Mail-In Redemption Form along with a copy of your billing statement must be postmarked no later than 60 days from your first statement or DishHD upgrade date.

3. Where can I find a copy of my billing statement?

Your first month’s bill is sent to you within 7–10 days of you activating your service and on a monthly basis thereafter. If you have opted for paperless billing or have misplaced your billing statement, please visit www.dishnetwork.com/myaccount to view and print your statement online.

4. What do I do if I have not received my first credit within 8–10 weeks of when I sent in
my form?

If your first $10 credit has not appeared on your billing statement by then, please call 1-866-225-1901.
Customer service agents are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

5. How will my $100 Back/HD Bonus be applied once my form has been received and processed?

For the $100 Back offer, you will receive monthly $10 credits on your DISH Network billing statement for 10 months for a total of $100 in credits. If you qualify for the HD Bonus offer you will receive a separate $10 credit for 10 months (a total of $100 for the HD Bonus offer; a total of $200 for customers that receive both the $100 Back and HD Bonus offers). Once the $10 credits start appearing on your statement they will continue for 10 months thereafter.

Note: Your DISH Network account must remain in good standing for you to receive your monthly credits. If your account is not in good standing or you downgrade to non-qualifying programming at any given time you will forfeit any future credits.
