Just got my Ecoda 22k switch and put it inline. Yes, it does allow you to cascade 2 Diseqc switches as discussed in previous threads.

System works like a charm with the Ecoda 22k switch separating the LNBs/Diseqc switches. No more slow switching. I recommend the Ecodas over others as of now. :) :hungry:

Next, the 8X1's are heading to my shopping cart.

techno is that a replacement for these cheapo 3x4 switches I use on my primestar dishes to get H/V on one line?

EDIT: This doesn't replace 3X4 multi's.

This can replace your existing 22k switch, and also is the only switch that can pass Diseqc commands.

This means, that both sides of the house can have a 4X1 Diseqc (or 8X1) and be switched between the 2 sides with that one Ecoda switch.

Also eliminates "homerun" cabling as described by one of our members. :)

My house is an odd situation. Trees are all over but I have LOS for different birds on 2 different sides of the house.

East side of the house is my motorized dish, but the LOS for sats further west (123 and so forth) aren't as viewable due to my mango tree.

This is where the 22k switch comes in, accepting my cable from the west side of my house which has a 4X1 for G10, Echo 7 (NASA), Echo 5(WOUB), and a future fixed position which I'll probably pick tonight. Maybe G28 or G25 depending on what I watch more. (I watch more of ABC News Now than I do G25)
So, we shall see!

I guess I was reading into a bit more than that. I just wanted it to be complicated I guess. :)

Here is the setup. There will be an 8X1 to replace the 4X1 eventually to accomadate C-band in the future.

8X1 will be added on the east (motorized side) one of these days.

I don't find Spaun nor Ecoda listed on:
SatelliteAV
Sadoun
GOsatellite

... and I really don't like doing business on FleaSpray.

 for anybody who missed it, that's a hint!

Anyone find 'em at any sort of satellite dealer?

I only saw Spaun Diseqc switches on Fleabay. I just so happen to use Fleabay as a last resort for local FTA stuff.

I sometimes get lucky.

But on the Spaun note, no luck! Just as Anole said. I'll stick with Ecoda. I've NEVER seen anything more reliable and faster.

The guy who sells em is located at UltimateSatHobby dot com

Also check out hxxp://www.ecoda.com.cn/Eng/En_ProductShow.asp?ArticleID=133.

(replace the xx's with tt's)

good laughs

The UltimateSatHobby guy is pretty up-front with price and shipping.
Nothing hidden, there.
I like his attitude.
Of course, his product line is somewhat limited.

Someone was asking how to set up a home satellite parts business, and this is a great example. *
His web site is lean and clean.
From his address, he's about 20 minutes away from me.
Wonder how he'd go for a pick-up? You know that's gotta be his house!

As for the eCoda site, those guys have an odd mix, too.
I especially liked their 4' center-fed dish, that breaks down into 6 panels.
... and they have a C-band LNB mounted on it!
Just too funny for words!

*edit: I just looked up the thread.
It was by Techno935

Good for you Anole, you have another local dealer, while the rest of us are stuck!!

Now, another update:

This setup limits useage of a Universal LNB and if you choose to use one on this setup, you are limited to one freq. band. Hi or lo.

I use the standard linear LNB on the motorized setup to view the limited highband stuff. (without a universal)

Got hooked on a movie on 30 west earlier. English movie with spanish subtitles.

Dissapointed in the quality of the 12050 mux on 43.1 west tonight. (8/8/07) Wanted a taste of Julie TV :hungry:

Hey, don't get on my case for having two little suppliers within half hour driving distance!
(You must remember the sat guy who's located in the back of his Mail Box shop!)
I've seen all the folks who are near Sadoun! :up
I'd swap with 'em.
Oh, wait... the weather... maybe not.

Just keep wondering if I could get up to SatelliteAV and back in a day... it'd be a long one!
Oh, and I just flashed on the price of gas . . . :(

Besides, I thought you had a really big dish salvager down your way.
Orlando? Cocoa Beach? Melbourne? Somewhere around there, I though.
I'm thinking I should be jealous of you!

Don't wanna get off topic here, but I wish there we're more local providers near me.

Although, there is the flea market, (swap shop) and there is this place in Miami called Futurevision satellite but they hardly speak english. So....no luck on that.

If I lived in Daytona I could shop at Dish Jockey. Oh well...life happens!

techno

I got those 22k switches from the same guy...havent hooked them up yet but that will be soon :)

You will like em. Run em either before the Diseqc switch of after the switch and you'll see how fast they switch. I have a plan similar to what Labgate is doing, although not THAT many dishes. :)
