ECHOSTAR TO OFFER UNIVISION LOCAL PROGRAMMING IN PUERTO RICO

Addition of Univision Expands DISH Network™ Satellite Television’s Local Channel Line-Up

ENGLEWOOD, CO and MIAMI, FL, September 8, 2005 – EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) and Univision Communications Inc. (NYSE: UVN) today announced that EchoStar’s DISH Network™, a leading provider of satellite television entertainment services, will offer Univision’s local programming on Channel 11 (WLII) by satellite television to Puerto Rico. The addition of Univision’s programming extends the local channel package of DISH Network, further expanding its comprehensive viewing options.

Univision’s WLII is the No. 1 television station in Puerto Rico, currently maintaining a 37 percent share of the viewing audience, sign-on, to sign-off, among two key demographics: Adult 18-49 and Total Household. Univison’s valuable programming cluster expands DISH Network’s already impressive local package.

“The addition of Univision to the Puerto Rico local channel line-up gives residents in Puerto Rico a more comprehensive local channel package,” said Eric Sahl, senior vice president of Programming for DISH Network. “Customers in Puerto Rico now have another reason to switch to DISH Network because we offer more programming and product choices at a better price.”

“We are thrilled to join forces with EchoStar in an endeavor that further expands Univision Puerto Rico’s distribution,” said Larry Sands, President and General Manager, WLII/WSUR. “By offering Univision Puerto Rico’s unique blend of the highest-quality, locally-produced programming with the best international offerings on DISH Network, EchoStar will provide its customers in Puerto Rico with the most popular Spanish-language programming available.”

Customers can call a local satellite TV retailer to learn how to upgrade or arrange an installation to receive Puerto Rico local channels. DISH Network also offers more than 100 international channels in over 25 languages.

In addition to Puerto Rico, DISH Network offers local channels in 164 U.S. markets, in 50 states, plus the District of Columbia.
